Before this fix, it was possible to set the widget 'pad'
on char fields but it only worked if the current model
inherited from 'pad.common'.
In the other cases, it crashed on closing Studio.
As there is two models only (project.task and
note.note), we decided to remove the possibility to set
this widget in Studio.

In Python 3, all of these were "consolidated" under urllib(.request,
.parse, .errors) which is inconvenient.
Since we already have hard dependencies on requests and
werkzeug(.urls, which is a backport of Python 3's unicode-aware
urllib.parse) migrate *everything* to that.
A sticking point is urllib2.URLError, those were (mostly) replaced by
the slightly more general IOError which URLError extends.
The pad widget was partially updated to the new views, but was no longer
working. In this commit, we rewrite the widget to make it work.
Note that we did some functional changes:
- we do only one rpc to check if the server is configured. the result is
stored on the prototype, so we do not need to do it again
- we do some rpcs with shadow: true, so we will not stop the rest of the
ui if the server is slow to respond
- we display a loading message in readonly, when the content is not
loaded yet.
In Python 3:
* various builtins and dict methods were changed to return
view/iterable objects rather than lists
* and the separate Python 2 view/iterable builtins and methods were
removed altogether
This is problematic when using these items as list (which the happens
repeatedly in Odoo), but more viciously when iterating *multiple times*
over them (which also happens, which I've messed up multiple times while
writing this, and which is a pain to debug even when you've just created
the issue).
Convert all code using these to semantics-matching cross-version
helper functions to get the LCD behaviour between P2 and P3, and
forbid the builtins via lint.
issue #8530
When creating a pad before this change these were the steps:
- modify pad URL for new pad URL
- end of record loading
This caused an issue because modifying the record at this point would
mark it as dirty before displaying it (which would result in a erroneous
warning "The record has been modified, your changes will be discarded.
Are you sure you want to leave this page ?").
With this fix:
- modifying the pad URL is done after the record is ready
- deferred have been unified (to remove possible race conditions)

forward port note: this change is needed up to saas-15, over saas-15
only a small part is needed (because x2many views are loaded with the
root view and there is one widget instance per record).
code note: it would be better to modify load_record of form view and
delay `record_loaded` upto after x2many views are loaded, but possible
impacts have been judged too risky so this is done only in pad widget.
This commit introduce a full redesign of all JS views. We started
basically from scratch. The goal was to unify all the various views
under a common framework, to make them testable, to make then usable in
different conditions (in studio, or in the frontend), and to make our
lives easier.
Some important points are:
- we introduced new coding guidelines (camelCase, 80 chars width, ...)
- we have a brand new testing framework (still QUnit based)
- kanban view moved to the web addon
- calendar view (formerly web_calender) moved to web as well
- the tree view was removed
- all new code should be documented
We hope that this code is the start of a new era for the Odoo web
client, we want to have a high quality codebase, well documented, well
tested, well designed.
Work done by the framework team: mostly aab, ged, chm, dmo, qsm
Previous commit was cleaning the orphan and fuzzy translations of all main translations.
This commit does the same for all regional languages (that are not on Transifex).
To keep these files small, keep only the translated strings.
Fixes#14937
Some languages were published on Transifex in v9 but no longer in v10.
These languages were still using the outdated .po files
In some of these po, there were some fuzzy translations that were incorrect
(e.g. 'POS Order %s' - 'Kassa ostud', missing '%s')
These were not erased as still using the old translations.
Regenerate a correct .po file based on the new .pot and remove fuzzy
translations.
Fixes similar issue than raised at #14937
Some more recent versions of etherpad can have newlines in the pad
content. Allowing newlines should not break anything that worked
before and allow more etherpad versions to be used.
