This bus will be removed in a future commit. Because busses are very general purpose and add a layer of indirection through event dispatching, they are a poor solution to cross component communication. Generally, child to parent communication is done by calling callbacks received as props, and parent to child communication is done by passing props. In rare cases, a child wants to give finer control to the parent component. In this commit, we replace the use of the bus by a pattern similar to React's `useImperativeHandle`: the parent component passes an object to the child component, which the child component then fills with the imperative API it wants to expose.
