element.{text,tail} are either ascii-compatible `str`, or `unicode`
when non-ascii-compatible. This could force the implicit decoding
of utf-8 encoded contents when joining template bits, breaking
the rendering.

For Odoo employees
To add the odoo-dev remote use this command:
$ ./odoo.py setup_git_dev
To fetch odoo merge pull requests refs use this command:
$ ./odoo.py setup_git_review
