SAP sends out emails that only contain a PDF part, without a text or
html body, e.g.:
X-Mailer: SAP NetWeaver 751
Content-Type: application/pdf; name="Afleveringsbewijs.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Description: Afleveringsbewijs
Before this patch, this single non-text part was parsed into the body of
the final message, as if it was a text part.
Making the check for the main part more restrictive solves the issue, as
there is no reason to assume that a non-multipart content is
necessarily of text/* type. This PR also includes a regression test.
Closes#21102
You could try to check followers on a model not inheriting from mail alias
mixin. In that case current code would check followers on a void mail
alias mixin record, meaning no followers found. Instead we now
differentiate the class method from the method checking record properties.
There was a leftover explicit conversion to bytestrings during the
parsing of HTML email parts.
This translated into a parse result with `msg_dict['body']` as a `bytes`
instance in Python 3, instead of the expected text type.
Coercing the result of etree.tostring() with UTF-8 encoding to a
native string should preserve the semantics in both Python versions
without this side-effect.
+ simplify another instance of native string use
This field can be called on an hr.expense for onchange on an
hr.expense.sheet record, thus the recordset could be a virtual ID so
self.ids could be empty leading to an error.

This commit removes the strange selection box based on a magic flag and
some strange methods returning a string. Instead just allow to send mass
mailing on all models inheriting from mail.thread using the is mail
thread flag.
Various addons are updated to remove the _mail_mass_mailing class
attribute used to determine mass mailing capability.
We consider people could send a mass mailing on every model inheriting
from mail.thread. It makes no sense to limit it to a given set of addons.
Now that we're closer to switching to P3 for good, these helpers have
outlived their usefulness, and mostly add noise.
All remaining dict.iter*() or dict.view*() must be converted to the
normal keys(), values() or items() calls.
Whenever the result is likely to be used for more than the scope of a
loop, or when the dict needs to be modified during iteration, the calls
must be wrapped in a ``list()``, to protect the new P3 semantics.
Those cases are very exceptional.
Also removed some dead code or improved the API to remove unnecessary
conversions.
* remove references to basestring & unicode (use relevant pycompat
helpers)
* remove some str calls (either entirely or replaced by relevant
helper, either text or native)
* use better API to avoid unnecessary conversions
* remove some XML declarations in views
* StringIO removed from stdlib, replace with io
* try to correctly handle BytesIO/StringIO (one is for bytes the other
is for text)
* fix base64: Python 3 removed bytes-encoding and bytes-bytes
codecs (via #encode) so replace all calls to str.encode('base64'),
also b64encode is a bytes->bytes conversion so attempt to properly
handle that
issue #8530
When a replying to an email, the matching alias should first verify access
via the parent record if exists (i.e. check on the project instead of
on the issue itself).
Slug and unslug API is now available in http_routing. Indeed there is no
link to any website or any reason to not support slufigied URLs when
website is not installed. A new unslug_url method is added as a tool
coming from an embedded method from website. Doing it allows to have all
slug related methods defined at the same point.
Support of slug and unslug in qweb rendering is also moved directly in
http_routing version of ir_ui_view instead of website inheritance. This
is done in order to keep things coherent.
Some code from website about ModelConverter is also moved. Indeed both
versions of ir_http uses some kind of placeholder to store the uid
when converting urls to python. This commit unifies it by using the
website one directly in base to simplify the override.
This commit also updates all module importing slug. Enterprise modules
will have to be updated, see related commit.
`parent_id` fields are common in many models, and thus default values
for those fields are sometimes passed in the context.
Because mail.message also has `parent_id` field, it would automatically
use the default when an automatic message was being posted. While of
course, the parent_id value comes from a different model.
This "adoption" by a random "parent message" is unexpected,
not desired, and it can even cause a very surprising AccessError if the
parent message is not readable by the user.
Forcing the `parent_id` value during the creation of an automatic message
avoids this confusion.
One way to trigger the bug was to use the "subtask" stat button to create a
child subtask for a project task (it relies on the parent task ID
passed in the context)
In Python 3:
* various builtins and dict methods were changed to return
view/iterable objects rather than lists
* and the separate Python 2 view/iterable builtins and methods were
removed altogether
This is problematic when using these items as list (which the happens
repeatedly in Odoo), but more viciously when iterating *multiple times*
over them (which also happens, which I've messed up multiple times while
writing this, and which is a pain to debug even when you've just created
the issue).
Convert all code using these to semantics-matching cross-version
helper functions to get the LCD behaviour between P2 and P3, and
forbid the builtins via lint.
issue #8530
Models inheriting from mail.thread can override this method and hook
on post message_post event and perform some action depending on the
business flow.
Future commits will use that hook to update the record after posting
a message, like updating the customer.
