Before this comit:
The `_views_get()` method would be called recursively for every
`inherit_children_ids`.
At the end of the method, we would get the complete view hierarchy, including
duplicate hierarchies for website specific copies (COW).
Then, the `get_related_views` that is calling `_views_get()` would be overriden
in website module to keep only most specific views.
But this would not be enough as it would leave orphans from other trees:
- Have a base view 'B'
- That has an inherited view 'I'
- That has itself an inherited view 'II'
- Now make the hierarchy specific on a website from 'I'
- And add another inherited view to 'I' on the generic tree
This become:
B
/ \
/ \
I I'
/ \ |
II II2 II'
As explained, filtering duplicates would not be enough as it would correctly
remove 'I' and 'II' from the generic tree but would not remove 'II2'.
At the end, it would return "B", "II2", "I'" and "II'".
Now, we correctly return only "B", "I'" and "II'" by ignoring generic trees
when there is a specific one.
Closes#29347
In a particular case, `_views_get` was mixing apples and oranges, ir.ui.view
and theme.ir.ui.view.
This was the case if a theme has a theme.ir.ui.view t-calling another
theme.ir.ui.view.
(Only theme's sale bridge cause this issue, eg theme_kea_sale.products)
Then, having that theme installed on a website would make all other website
without that theme to crash when opening the /shop customize menu.
Indeed, the theme.ir.ui.view would have the xml_id theme_kea_sale.search.
The generic view `website_sale.products` would have `theme_kea_sale.products`
as inherit child which is website specific and t-call `theme_kea_sale.search`.
Then, on a website witout theme_kea installed, opening the customize menu would
call `get_related_views` that would call `_views_get` that would loop through
inherit children calling `_view_obj` that would not find a view with that key
and would fallback on self.env.ref, finding the theme.ir.ui.view.
Note: `_views_get` might return specific view for another website but that will
be filtered on `get_related_views` override in website.
Step to reproduce:
- Have at least 2 websites and website_sale installed
- Install theme_kea on a website, it will also install theme_kea_sale
- Go on the website that has not theme_kea installed
- Go to /shop
- Open Customize menu, it won't load because of python crash

Before this commit, when enabling a generic view from a specific website
context and that view already had a specific view for this website, the
view was duplicated again instead of writing on the already existing
specific one.
This is because we did not consider inactive views when checking if a
view that is being written already has a website-specific view.
closesodoo/odoo#28743
Before this commit:
1. If a view A is being inherited by a view B and C and the view C is doing an
xpath on B (but inherit A), then copying the tree to make it specific would
crash.
Indeed, when copying C, the view inheritance check (while doing the xml
check) would break since C would be tested against the generic tree and not
the new specific tree.
2. If a generic view being written with a website_id in the context had already
a specific child, we would copy both its specific child and generic child
for the same key instead of simply copying the specific one.
This happens if we triggered previously a COW on a child view, then only
that view had been made specific (and is still in the generic tree).
Then, when cloning the parent, we need to copy and make specific all the
hierarchy but ignore the generic elements if they already have a specific
one.
Now:
1. Fixed with adding the inherit_id on the copy vals
2. Fixed with filtering children_ids with filter_duplicate() before cloning the
children tree

web_editor dirty elements are saved by calling the ir.ui.view `save()` method.
As this method is called through call_kw _rpc on the ir.ui.view model, self
is binded to the view which has the `id` sent in the request.
In some cases, when editing a field for example, the id sent is the id of the
field's record (eg: product.template for price field).
In that case, the view binded on self will be the view with the id of the
field's record being edited.
If there is no ir.ui.view with the same ID as the field's record, self won't
exists.
This misbehavior resulted in no error luckily since we only use self to call
ir.ui.view methods without ever using self properties.
Since multi-website 47b00c5d53 overrided the `save()` method and used self.key
it was crashing when the self record did not exists.
This commit will fix that by doing the multi-website check only when it is a
view and not a field that is being edited. (We know that if xpath is set)

Before this commit, when using the website editor, modifications were
saved in place in the original view. The view was also marked as non
updatable so that when an user migrates its database, he does not lose
its modifications.
The problem with this system is that users were able to keep their
modifications at the cost of having views which are not up-to-date with
the latest odoo updates.
Now, the views' content which is inside an oe_structure element is saved
in an inheriting view instead of the original view. The original
view is not marked as non updatable anymore.
Note 1: we only consider elements with the 'oe_structure' class which
also have an id containing the 'oe_structure' string.
Note 2: if a non oe_structure but editable content is edited, the
original view is still marked as non updatable (however, with the new
multi-website feature, this may not be necessary as the edited view will
be duplicated to be website-specific... we may want to disable the
behavior in a future update).
Before this commit, when we ask for get_current_website, we always
get one website. If we don't know which, we took the first one.
Now we can ask, if we are into a website context or not with a new argument fallback.
Previous code like:
website = get_current_website()
if website:

Have now a sense ;)
The write method did not work properly for views anymore as soon as it
was called on a multi-records recordset which contains at least one
view which is not website specific. In that case, it used the cow
system for that view (and thus created a specific copy)... but forgot
to continue the write method for the other views, leading to strange
results.
With multi-websites, we expect qweb views to have a key set as it is the key
that is used to find duplicates (two views with same keys are duplicate, the
one with a website_id set is more specific than the one without a website_id)
Thus, 5ff87e8039 sort on key in order to find the most suitable one.
It would crash if a qweb view is created without a key (False) as it can't sort
`bool` and `str`.
This commit:
- Adds a generated key to scss views
- Adds an SQL constraint to avoid QWeb views without a `key`
- Generates a random key when creating a QWeb view without a `key`
- Handle False key in `filter_duplicate()` by extracting views with False key
before sorting, and then adding these views to the recordset
Note: We also want the key to be editable as it is now an important field with
multiwebsite. Thus, we removed the readonly on this field.
+ fix python tests as we now force key on qweb views with sql constraint

In some case, you can be on website 2 (where company_id = 2) with your user into the company 1.
In this case, you will not see the product on ecommerce from company 2 while you stay in company 1.
With this commit now user can set custom meta image from the seo dialog. If the
user sets such image then it will be displayed when the user shares that URL in
social sites.
By default, it will show the list of images used in the current page.
Alternatively, user can use media dialog to select/upload images. By default, it
will take the company logo as a meta-image.
We also improved how custom meta tags are handled for different pages, Now we can
set custom meta tags based on the model and we can override '_default_website_meta'
method in case you want to change default meta values from the specific model.
e.g. For products displayed on the shop, if we want to change the value of
og:image to product specific images instead of default logo
In future, it will be used to add model specific metas like og:price, og:currency
We passed 'website_company_id' in frontend session info because we display
company logo in dialog for all pages. We can't use /logo.png as it is not
updating in multicompany and multiwebsite.

table theme [ir.ui.view|ir.attachment|website.page|website.menu].
Data are only copied from this template table into the real table when you
choose a theme on a website; Making them website_specific and with a link
to the original to allow futur update.
A special case is done to create theme.ir.ui.view when you are installing
a theme, even if you continue to use template tag to create quick view.

This implements support to administer multiple websites. Although the
core functionality already existed, managing multiple websites was
fairly technical.
In the interest of database updates and migration this attempts to
keep duplicated data to a minimum. To do this the usual generic
records are rendered unless some website-specific record exists that
replaces it. Copy-on-write (COW) is used to create these
website-specific records. Through this mechanism creating a
website-specific record is delayed until necessary. A COW mechanism
has been implemented on 4 models: ir.ui.view, website.page,
website.menu and ir.attachment. These COW mechanisms are activated
when editing data through the website (aka frontend). These frontend
edits (e.g. with web_editor) will be website-specific, possibly
creating a website-specific record when necessary. When editing data
in the backend nothing special will happen, even when editing a
generic record. Note that because of this mechanism also facilitates
the ability to create new, uncustomized websites because the generic
data is kept.
Support is provided for a website to have any theme. Themes are fairly
complex to handle. Standalone themes can depend on other standalone
themes (e.g. theme_beauty depends on theme_loftspace) and themes
usually modify some data of the themes they depend on. Because a theme
can be installed on multiple websites, using website_id m2o fields
does not work well. It would require duplicate data, making updates
and migration harder. Because of this, data for themes (ir.ui.view and
ir.attachment specifically) have a theme_id m2o. website has a
theme_ids m2m that identifies all theme modules currently installed on
it. Through these fields we figure out what to render. A theme is only
fully uninstalled when it's no longer active on any website. The
advantage of this approach is that upgrading or migrating theme data
is no different from the single-website case.
The website.published.mixin class was modified to handle multiple
websites. A wizard was added in the backend to easily manage this for
multiple website.
Although not used anywhere in this commit, a 'website_id' variable has
been added in the evaluation context of ir.rule. It allows to easily
make any model multi-website aware, all that's needed is a custom
website_id m2o field on a model and a custom record rule.
itertools' groupby function expects the iterable to be sorted as
hinted to in the documentation:
"Generally, the iterable needs to already be sorted on the same key
function."
When running groupby on an unsorted iterable non-adjacent duplicates
will remain:
>>> from itertools import groupby
>>> [e[0] for e in groupby([1, 2, 1])]
[1, 2, 1]
Because of this filter_duplicate would occassionally return
duplicates. To resolve this sort on the key field. Afterwards sort the
result on the usual inherit order: (priority, id).

It is highly recommended to fix it before writing to a file.
Currently some base context used for evaluation is computed when rendering
QWeb templates. Evaluation context is build in base and improved notably
in website module.
This commit adds an option to skip this context build and have a minimal
evaluation context based on given values. Purpose is to avoid having to
search and browse unnecessary content when evaluating some custom templates.
When we know precisely what we need when rendering a template there is no
need to add unnecessary items in the evaluation context.

Before this commit, an user could not create or remove a website.menu since
there was no list/form view for it. Changing sequence also impossible.
Therefore, it was impossible to create or delete a menu from an event. (you
could just edit the existing one)
Now, user can access in debug mode to the list and form view of website.menu to
manage the menus.
This commit also add a link on the ir.ui.view form view to access it's related
website.page
This closes#21302
Before this commit:
When you were on the page manager and you were editing a website.page's
content, it would redirect you to the website.page's ir.ui.view's form view in
the backend.
From there, you would'nt have an easy way to get back to the page manager:
your only option was to go to the website module and click on 'go to website'
and then click on menu/manage pages.
It was not convenient when you were editing multiple page quickly or just
taking a look into some pages.
Now, you have a button on the ir.ui.view's form view to get directly on the page
manager.
Note: this back button is obviously invisible for ir.ui.view not related to a
website.page
website.page = old ir.ui.view with page=True
website.redirect is a new mechanism to replace in the futur the ir.attachment
mechanism of redirect.
From now, we don't have a specific /page controller to serve 'page'.
We use a new model website.page which is rendered if none route matches the url
and that the field 'url' on website.page matches the request.httprequest.path.
The order to serve a path is:
- Routes defines in controllers (/shop, /blog, ...)
- ir.attachment with name matching the path
- website.page with url matching the path
- website.redirect with url_from matching the path
- 404
To improve:
- allow regexp in website.redirect model
- allow to edit the view_arch from the page.management via redirect backend
(needed when traceback in the page, or when modifying a js/css/less/...)
Before this patch, if some view had both `inherit_id` and `website_id`,
its inheritances were being applied even in different websites.
After this patch, if a view inherits from another, inheritances will only apply
when both views belong to the same (or none) website.

Code managing language in URLs and redirection is moved from website
to http_routing. Override of _dispatch in website now consists in adding
website to the request.
url_for and is_multilang_url tools methods are also moved from website
to http_routing.ir_http as those are required for the moved code.
Some renaming is performed on request attributes previously added in
website. Indeed as website keyword may be misleading now a renaming
has been performed to better understand them :
* request.website_enabled -> request.is_frontend
* request.website_multilang -> request.is_frontend_multilang
* request.httprequest.cookies.get('website_lang') -> ('frontend_lang')
* first_pass variable in _dispatch is replaced by a new attribute of
request, routing_iteration, that is the number of routing iterations
currently done
ir_http override in website manage languages through methods or attributes
directly defined on website model. Those methods are get_languages method
and default_lang_code attribute. In order to be able to have a translation
layer independent of website we have to have access to this data without
depending on website record.
This commit solves this by adding class methods on ir_http override
located in http_routing. Basic implementation comes directly from website
default methods _active_languages and _default_language. Website overrides
those methods in order to be based on website values defined through
language_ids and default_lang_id for available languages and default
language.
Website behavior is therefore untouched whereas http_routing implements
a basic default behavior. This commit updates ir_http code in website
to use those methods and ease next commits which will move parts of that
code.
Slug and unslug API is now available in http_routing. Indeed there is no
link to any website or any reason to not support slufigied URLs when
website is not installed. A new unslug_url method is added as a tool
coming from an embedded method from website. Doing it allows to have all
slug related methods defined at the same point.
Support of slug and unslug in qweb rendering is also moved directly in
http_routing version of ir_ui_view instead of website inheritance. This
is done in order to keep things coherent.
Some code from website about ModelConverter is also moved. Indeed both
versions of ir_http uses some kind of placeholder to store the uid
when converting urls to python. This commit unifies it by using the
website one directly in base to simplify the override.
This commit also updates all module importing slug. Enterprise modules
will have to be updated, see related commit.
Base render method now calls a prepare_qcontext method used to prepare
the qweb context used for the rendering. Website override of ir_ui_view
now simply inherits this method to add its own set of values instead of
doing strange things with the base render override.
Qweb context should be the same after this commit, i.e. containing a lot
of duplicated things like a copy of the context. The only change is that
user_id and res_company are now directly supported in base rendering
instead of only in website version of rendering. Future commits will
use those values.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
-Change the default lang on the website to be different than en_US
-Edit the name of a product in the website
Bug:
The name of the product is changed in en_US and not in the language
set on the website. The lang is in fact removed from the context in
function saveElement(in addons/web_editor/static/rte.js).

Some default website menu were not marked as active when landing on
their associated page, e.g. clicking on "Blog" loads the blog page

This was because of slugified URL. Indeed, for the "Blog" menu for
example, the URL "/blog/1" redirects to the "/blog/my-super-blog-1"

Commit a2ae219d4e fixed the customize_template_get
function(s) which had been modified for the 10.0 web_studio release.
While the fix also reorganized the structure to make it more efficient
and understandable, it promised that the function would be refactored
in master. This is what this commit does.
The customize_template_get route of the website module was also removed
with commit 5a030db3eb as it was an useless
duplicate of the web_editor customize_template_get route.
The old route handled two totally different features of odoo: getting
all the page-related views to allow their edition with the HTML editor
and getting the "toggable views" which appear in the "Customize"
website menu. The parameter "full" allowed to determine which one the
route was supposed to do and was useless until website was installed to
add its feature (by extending the route behavior). In both cases, views
informations are returned, only the number of views differs. The
above-mentionned fix already did part of the refactoring by returning
the same info structure for each view in both cases.
Now, the function has been split. The web_editor customize_template_get
route is renamed as get_assets_editor_resources and returns the info the
HTML editor needs to work (the "assets" term is in prevision of the
new LESS editor).
A new website route "get_switchable_related_views" has been created to
return the info the "Customize" website menu needs.
Both use the renamed ir.ui.view function "get_related_views" (old
ir.ui.view customize_template_get function) which now returns a
recordset and not a list of dictionnaries.
Commit e11f23b701 split the website
customize_template_get into web_editor and website ones. This split
was not perfect and commit 20861b482a
tried to make it work... but did not made it totally and added an
indirect dependency to website module in web_editor...
As the final result is wrong and inconsistent and that the previous
9.0 implementation was already ugly, this was not possible to make
a consistent full-stable fix.
This commit tries to make a fix as stable as possible (the main method
name did not change, the arguments did not change, their purpose is
the same, ...) which makes the code work and be less ugly. However,
the function returns are now slightly different (and JS depends on it).
It returns only valid view information (not header stuff which is not
related to anything and the inherit_id value is now a combination of
the inherit view id and name). Also, a new private method has been
created.
Also, the method contained code which was deprecated since saas-6 but
was never removed (and never broke anything "by chance").
In master these methods will be refactored to make more sense.
The commit e59a7fe3ff has moved
the ACE editor from website to web_editor. As some code on ir_ui_view
was used for this widget, the code has also been moved to web_editor.
Several modules defines records with the external ID `base.foo_bar` while it is
created inside this module (typically menus and groups).
While there is no technical reasons to do so but this may introduce issues:
- these records will not be deleted during uninstall
- if a language is loaded before the installation of the module, it won't be
translated
The uninstallation will only remove the records with an external id linked to
this module (these would only be removed when removing base).
Installing a language before the module will drop the translations not linked
to an existing external id (as it can not be resolved).
This commit correct all the external ids tagged as from base or other incorrect
modules.
