- Email generated from mass mailing will have its own layout with internal css.
- strip_classes is removed from mail_message because mail client are now supporting
internal stylesheet. we need it for make mail responsive.
mail: manually removed classes from incoming mail body
Because we removed strip_classes from mail message body field because we want to
allow classes in outgoing mail to make it responsive but classes are not removed
from incoming mails so here we manually removed classes from incoming mail.

Several applications have an index.html file that is used to fill the html
description of the module. However those descriptions are generally not
up to date: they contain outdated screenshots, feature descriptions are
not maintained, ...
Instead we just rely on the discover button that redirects on the application
website. It has more chance being up to date. Moreover updating a website
is easier than updating the index.html of a module.
This commit is related to task ID 47179 and 1861544. Related PR are #22689
and #25556. First one is about classic applications while second one is about
website applications.

In a previous commit, we removed the use of the 'btn-sm' classes as we
used it everywhere for default-size buttons instead of customizing the
size of those default-size buttons directly.
This commit proves it was even more necessary as the 'btn-xs' class does
not exist anymore in BS4 and we so can use the 'btn-sm' class instead.
Odoo used to declare two main colors: primary and optional (which are
purple and turquoise in enterprise). Those were respectively assigned
to the 'primary' bootstrap variable and the 'btn-primary' bootstrap
variable.
BS4, however, does not allow to have a different primary color for
buttons. Instead, the 'primary' color is used for all 'primary' related
components and utility classes, same as for all other colors. So, if we
want to keep our enterprise buttons green, our 'optional' colors had to
become our 'primary' color. The old odoo primary is then renamed to the
'odoo' color.
The palette of grays is now larger by default and is numbered from 100 to
900 alongside the $black and $white variables. The equivalence for older
variables and the way we used them is:
$gray-darker -> gray 900 (unused before)
$gray-dark -> gray 900
$gray -> gray 700
$gray-light -> gray 600
$gray-lighter-darker -> gray 400 (the old variable was created by us)
$gray-lighter-dark -> gray 300 (the old variable was created by us)
$gray-lighter -> gray 200
Fortunately, the 'lighter' variations we created fit well in the default
BS4 system ! Unfortunately, our $gray-lighter which carried the same
function as $gray-200 (see above) is very close to the new default
$gray-100 and quite distant from the new $gray-200. This will be handled
in the next commit.
- The dropdown structure was simplified, allowing to get rid of the
3-levels structure induced by <ul/> elements and dropdowns can now
contain anything. The class 'dropdown-item' is now mandatory for
each dropdown clickable element. The class 'dropdown-item-text' can
be used to add same padding and style but without making the element
have a clickable look.
- Dividers now use the class 'dropdown-divider'
- The way dropdowns are opened and hidden also changed (before the
'open' class was added on the `.dropdown-menu` parent, now the
'show' class is added on both the `.dropdown-menu` parent and the
`.dropdown-menu` itself).
- JS-wise, no click event handlers can be put on `.dropdown-toggle`
elements anymore (instead, use handlers for dropdown events).
- Carets are automatically put on `.dropdown-toggle` elements, so this
commit replaces the `.caret` elements with this. This feature was
possible to disable but would prevent us from adding a caret with
scss. Also, this simplifies the DOM. The 'o-no-caret' class was also
introduced to allow using the 'dropdown-toggle' class on non-caret
elements.
- Also adapt the scss to use $caret-width instead of $caret-width-base
The system completely changed. I also had to adapt classes to new
screen breakpoints.
hidden/hide -> d-none
show -> d-block
hidden-xs -> d-none d-md-(block/inline/...)
hidden-sm -> d-md-none d-lg-(block/inline/...)
hidden-md -> d-lg-none d-xl-(block/inline/...)
hidden-lg -> d-xl-none
visible-xs-* -> d-* d-md-none
visible-sm-* -> d-none d-md-* d-lg-none
visible-md-* -> d-none d-lg-* d-xl-none
visible-lg-* -> d-none d-xl-*
hidden-print -> d-print-none
visible-print-* -> d-none d-print-*
...
and all possible combination of those had to be handled too.
BS4 do not provide vendor prefixes scss mixins anymore as it is meant
to be used with the 'autoprefixer' library. As we only support the last
version of every major browsers in Odoo, we took the decision to not
use the library as it was also complex to integrate in Odoo. We decided
to do the library's work by hand if it ever become necessary.
Description of the issue/feature this PR addresses:
Accessibility improvements forbids the use of the syntax
`<i class="fa fa-check"/> Some text`
to create a labelled icon. But, by this, some fonts are changed.
Desired behavior after PR is merged:
The old syntax can be used.
Today, Odoo is really tricky to use without seeing the screen, it must be improved to be usable.
This PR forbid to use labels without a "for" attribute, add some title, rule and aria attributes in HTML. With that, Odoo will be fully usable with a screen reader.
* [IMP] Labels must have a for attribute. Improve accessibility.
* [IMP] Better error message when trying to read a missing cached value
* [FIX] Add some aria-label and title attributes for screen readers.

Unlike LESS, SCSS variables are not lazy loaded. Our system has thus
to be updated. This commit creates new templates which are t-called
in assets bundles (to replace the old less_helpers template):
- web._assets_utils: regroups the mixins and functions which *can*
(and so should) be available in every asset bundle
- web._assets_primary_variables: regroups the variables (or mixins
used as variables) which *can* (and so should) be available in
every asset bundle
- web._assets_secondary_variables: same as above but provides an
environnement where all the 'primary' ones are accessible. This is
for example useful to handle the community/enterprise split:
// Community primary variables
$o-pink-color: pink; // enterprise color
$o-brand-primary: blue;
// Enterprise primary variables
$o-brand-primary: $o-pink-color;
// Community secondary variables
$o-my-darker-primary: darken($o-brand-primary, 5%);
=> If there was only one variable template, enterprise edition would
have been able to define its primary color at the end but the
darker primary would not have been updated. Using the "!default"
system and putting enterprise definition above would not have
solved the problem as the $o-pink-color would not have been
accessible.
- web._assets_backend_helpers: regroups the variables, mixins and
functions which *can* (and so should) be available in the backend
asset bundle only. This is especially (only?) useful for bootstrap
variables overriddes.
- web._assets_frontend_helpers: regroups the variables, mixins and
functions which *can* (and so should) be available in the frontend
asset bundle only. This is especially (only?) useful for bootstrap
variables overriddes.
Note: bootstrap variables are not accessible in any of those anymore.
If you have variables that should depend on bootstrap, you have 3
solutions:
- Find another way: your variable is probably useless, use bootstrap
variables directly or create a variable that will influence the
value of bootstrap variables. E.g. instead of declaring:
`$myvar: $bootstrapvar * 3`
and using $myvar alone, declare:
`$myvar: 3` and use `$myvar * $bootstrapvar` where needed.
- Declare a copy of the bootstrap variable and use that one. In that
case, you should also force-set the real bootstrap one to be sure
they match (this should be done in appropriate templates mentioned
above). E.g.
```
$o-boostrapvar: 5;
...
$boostrapvar: $o-bootstrapvar;
```
- Set your variable to null and set it to your bootstrap expression
in the file you will need it (where bootstrap variables are accessible)
without forgetting to add the !default flag to allow overriddes.
```
$myvar: null;
...
$myvar: $bootstrapvar * 5 !default;
```
This commit also partly changes the variable names to follow the
convention:
$o-<app_id>-<name> where 'app_id' is the current's app name or a
meaningful unique identifier ("theme" for all themes for example, as
no multiple themes can be installed).
Convert content so that the assets compile on app installation. The
style is still broken after this as the variables/mixins/... are not
defined in the right order (as it did not matter in LESS but does in
SCSS).
This commit basically changes:
- Variables: @var_hello -> $var-hello
- Mixins: .mixin_world() {} -> @mixin mixin-world {}
- Classes used as mixin: .my_class() -> @extend .my_class
- Here there were no other solution than to convert the use of
a mixin call by the use of an extend as a first approximation
- LESS functions -> SCSS functions (e.g. fade -> rgba)
- Move first variable definition before the variable is used
- Still need to make sure last variable definition is at the
right place

This commit fixes a bug with table duplication in mailing template:
- Click on a snippet with two columns
- Duplicate it
-> the snippet is duplicated but the two columns are transformed in two
rows.
This was because there is an implemented behavior for column
duplication: if we duplicate a column which was alone on its row, we
duplicate the row instead. This code should however be triggered when
duplicating the column alone to be working, not the snippet that
contains it.
Note: this required a backport of a33ec972ab
which was fixing a non-critical "bug" for 11.0. This non-critical "bug" is
therefor fixed here too.

Browsers' default alignement of <td/> is 'inherit'. Some mail clients do
not set this value properly though and even if it is explicitely set,
they do not compute the final value well.
As a fix, this commit forces the 'inherit' value on <td/> and computes
the real alignment for 'inherit' values when transcoding.
opw-813688
Mail content is wrapped in a table to properly allow centering the
layout in all mail clients. The problem was that this table was able
to be customized by the editor while it should not.
- Not any text by default
- No padding in sent layout (add padding to the editor for readability)
- Apply font size like gmail
- Line spacing should behave like in gmail, so no margin on <p> tags
- Ordered and unordered lists should have proper margin and bullets
should have black color
* web, website, mass_mailing
Before this commit, the editor allowed defining the margin of some
elements and the height of some elements. There were three main
problems with this system:
1) When an user dragged the arrow, he often expected to change the
size of the element while he was in fact changing the margin
2) When changing the margin, you increase the space between two
elements but with a white space (while most users want a space
with the same color of the block they are resizing = padding)
3) When changing the height, the user was able to hide snippet parts
and the height was not consistent accross screen sizes
Now, the only thing you can edit is padding. There is only one arrow
for each direction, which allows increasing spacing and consistent
dimension at the same time.
The only feature that is lost with this change is the ability to
control vertical alignement of colored columns. This is not a problem
as colored columns are rare in our current snippets and there still
have the possibility to add margin classes by hand if necessary (there
are also plans to control vertical alignement another way).
Note: margin classes are kept for compatibility.
Without this patch, default images for themes are not used automatically
in themes' templates when one is chosen for the 1st time. This was not
inducing any bug in standard 10.0 but with custom-made templates, you had
to put the correct themes images in the defined template. This allows to
just `t-call` snippets instead of having to fully hardcode them in theme
templates.
Origin of the fix: the snippet background image did not change the background image.
This was due to commit a14f89c which wraps the snippet's content into a table for outlook display compliance
This issue is fixed here, with the modificaion of the background snippet option.

This commit reviews the whole "JS side" of the web_editor and website
apps. This is a first step to be able to improve them with new and
better functionnalities; this commit is not supposed to change any
visual behavior.
The main goal was to achieve a structure similar to the backend one.
Now, the frontend side also has a root widget (like the WebClient)
and all other widgets are attached to it one way or another. This allows
the benefits of using the 'trigger_up' functionnality for example.
As RPC are now mainly done with the `this._rpc` functionnality (being
possible thanks to the parent hierarchy), the frontend will also be
possible to test thanks to QUnit in a future update (besides the "text"
editor side which still requires a refactoring to be able to do that).
---
Here are some of the changes:
(-) conventions and documentation
The code has been updated to follow JS conventions and a lot of code has
been commented (around +2000 lines of comment). This also means that
lots of functions have been renamed to use camelCase or simply to make
their name understandable.
See https://github.com/odoo/odoo/wiki/Javascript-coding-guidelines.
(-) deprecated: web_editor.base
The "web_editor.base" module has been split and does not force the
modules which require it to wait for DOM ready anymore. This was indeed
slowing loading times, but also prevented to use some modules in some
contexts (see the LESS editor use in web_studio which is the subject of
another task).
Now the "editor context" can be got thanks to the "web_editor.context"
JS module with its "get" function.
The "web_editor.base" module should probably not be used anymore (see
its code and recent updates).
(-) new: web.dom_ready
If a JS module should wait for the DOM to be ready to be executed, a
new JS module has been created: "web.dom_ready". This should always
be used in a module which only want to instantiate stuff. Do not
extend (or worst, include) classes after DOM ready.
(-) website.website
The "website.website" module has been split. "website.website" does not
return anything useful anymore, it just initialize some miscellaneous
stuff, without waiting for the DOM to be ready. You might want to check
"website.utils", "website.content.compatibility" or `WebsiteRoot`. Also
`website.form` has been deleted (use `this._rpc`), so has been
`website.error`. `website.prompt` will be removed in a future update to
be replaced by `Dialog.prompt`.
(-) widgets are great
Many classes which were not widgets are now widgets. This allows them to
use the 'events', the 'xmlDependencies' and the 'this._rpc' features for
example. Here are some of the main ones:
- Snippet options: these were classes with a `$el` for the menu element
and `$target` for the customized element. This is still the case
but following standard `Widget` structure (one exception: using
`this.$(...)` searches in the `$target` as before this update).
- Snippet animations: instead of class instances with a `$target`
element which can be `start` and `stop`, these are now standard
widgets which can be `start` and `destroy`. `this.$target` is
an alias to `this.$el` for ease of compatibility.
- Snippet editors: instead of class instances in charge of an editor
overlay, these are now widgets. Each "child" snippet editor is
properly attached as a "child", which allows editors to communicate
and to be properly destroyed.
(-) root widgets and website navbar
The frontend is different of the backend. In the backend, the page has
an empty <body/> element and all the components are instantiated from
parent to children (i.e. the `WebClient` is instantiated and is in
charge of instantiating the `ControlPanel`, etc). The frontend cannot
work like that on page loadings as they are way more frequent than in
the backend and we do not want them to flicker. A frontend page is
loaded as a <body/> element which already contains the website navbar
and its menus and the whole content page. JS code has to be "attached"
to these existing elements. This is possible thanks to the `RootWidget`
instances and the specialized `WebsiteRoot`, `IframeRoot` and
`WebsiteNavbar` (see code for details).
(-) lazy loading
No more (or at least a lot less) XML/JS has to be loaded on page
loading, thanks to the use of the `Widget.xmlDependencies` feature.
XML which have to be lazy loaded is loaded only on related Widget
instantiation if necessary, which allows to execute a lot of JS code
before the DOM is ready and to start many widgets on DOM ready (not
later). A visual benefit of this is clicking on the 'edit' button as
soon as it is possible: before this commit, this was sometimes not
doing anything as event handlers were not binded yet.
Still a possible exception: loading the session and locales. This may
be asynchronous stuff which is still required before widget
instantiations but this will be the subject of another task.
(-) deprecated code and code location
More than reviewing code and organizing it, many apparent dead code was
removed. More importantly, mislocated code was put in the right app.
This is the case for snippet animations which is a concept for website
apps but was defined in the web_editor app, or some translation concepts
which were part of website but should have been part of web_editor.

There are probably more things to say about this commit but I will let
the comments speak for those.
In some case we don't want to wrap the content to be centered.
Now, you can add a data-nowrap when you define the theme params to
don't wrap it in a table automatically
Eg:
<div data-name="blank"
data-img="/xxx"
>> data-nowrap="1"
data-images-info='{...}'>
