The test_tags is stored as None by default in the config file,
but 'None' is interpreted as a string when read.
This is a dirty fix in order to avoid to launch tests when using
a config file, we should do something cleaner in master and refactor
part of this code (substitute 'None' in the load method as it is
done for boolean)

Commit 76c5389 removed the option dest for test-enable leading to a
traceback when trying to save the configuration.
This was due to the fact that the options dict was sorted while
containing a None key because of the missing dest.
The goal here is to keep the default behaviour of test-enable and test-tags
except that test-tags will set test-enable to true if set.
- +standart must stay the default test-tags if none are set
(only usefull if test-enable is set)
- should work no matter the order of "test-tags" and "test-enable"
options in args
- knowing the fact that for strange reason, _parse_config is called twice

As a follow-up to commit 276ea817f4,
we change the default template database used for CREATE DATABASE
operations, and we avoid setting the LC_COLLATE option unless
this default template is used (to avoid locale compatibility errors).
Rationale for the default template choice:
PostgreSQL uses `template1` by default, and recommends that users alter
`template1` if they need a custom template, while keeping template0
virgin. This is likely to be the reason why we had `template1` as the
default previously (from a1e5c645d9).
However, for new Odoo databases, it's actually better to use `template0`
as template, for multiple reasons:
- We do not customize the template database, and the system will work
fine when starting from a completely virgin database
- Since template0 does not allow connections by default, we have a
stronger guarantee that no user will be connected to the template
database (which would otherwise block database creations!)
- We use the same logic for creating new databases and for creating
placholder databases for restoring dumps. In the latter case,
PostgreSQL recommends using a virgin template, to obtain a perfect
copy of the database being restored (unaffected by any template
customization)
- Using `template0` as a template lets us choose any encoding and locale
settings (LC_COLLATE/LC_CTYPE) upon creation. Any other database
template might cause errors unless we select compatible encodings
and locale settings.
As the locale setting is system-dependent, we can't just hope
that there will be no compatibility problem, we must explicitly
default to template0. Therefore the change in
276ea817f4 was prone to causing
locale compatibility errors.
Finally, if users have a reason to prefer a different template, they
should select it explicitly with the --db_template config.
Note: existing environments will likely continue to use `template1`
as a default due to presence of older config files.

Instead of:
1. testing the existance
2. creating the directory if not exists
(which would not work if a concurrent creation is done between step 1 and 2)
do:
1. try to create the directory
2. skip if it fails

Closes#24210
Purpose: When running tests, all the tests for the installed/updated
files are done. This commit adds a 'tagged' decorator that can be used to
tag tests. Combined with a new 'test-tags' CLI option, it adds the ability
to filter which tests are executed. For example, @tagged('slow') will
add a tag 'slow' to the test. The CLI option 'test-tags="slow"' will
only run tests tagged 'slow'.
One can use prefixes to select cases with tags.
'+' or no prefix means that the tests tagged with this tag are selected
for execution. '-' prefix will exclude the tests tagged with this tag.
Exclusion takes precedence over inclusion.
Also, by default, all Odoo tests cases are tagged 'standard' and with
the technical name of the module.
This means that when selecting tests with the 'test-tags'
parameter, if '-standard' is not specified, all tests tags are
going to be executed.
When tagging tests, one can remove such automatic tag by prefixing the
tag name with '-'. E.g. @tagged('-standard') will remove the standard
tag from the test.
Another example, if one wants to test the 'sale' module alone,
even without adding any 'tagged' decorator thos tests can be selected
like that: --test-tags="sale"
Tests are selected or deselected using a TagsSelector. When instanciated,
a string is passed with comma separated tests selectors like
'+slow,-standard'. When the 'check' method is called with a test as argument,
it returns True or False if the test has to be executed or not.
- The `--no-database-list` option will now also block access to database
management functions and screens.
Presumably this flag should only be used in production when all
databases have been provisioned, so the admin should like to block
access to the db manager at the same time.
- If no `--database` or `-d` parameter is provided, the system will be
unable to fetch a list of databases at all, so users will be blocked
with an error message.
- Hide the link on the login screen to the DB manager when it is
disabled, to prevent sending users to an error page.
- Weak attempt at updating the documentation
Note: the security check for RPC methods could have been done in the RPC
dispatcher, however that would not have protected service methods when
called directly, e.g. by a controller (e.g. the dump method).
- Add support for hashed master passwords (super-admin password) using a
strong scheme (PBKDF2_SHA512).
- Replace the password with a hash in memory (tools.config map), after
verifying it
- Automatically replace the plaintext master password with a hash when
saving it after a password change
- Preserve support for setting/using plaintext passwords when necessary
(e.g. as a temporary deployment thing)
The 'xmlrpc'-based configuration parameters have been a misnomer since
the introduction of the generic HTTP service, years ago.
Hide these options from the server parameters, and replace them with
more appropriate 'http' ones:
--xmlrpc-interface -> --http-interface
--xmlrpc-port -> --http-port
--no-xmlrpc -> --no-http
The config entries for these have been adapted as well.
The old parameter names are still silently supported in both
command-line arguments and config files. However they are
stored with the new names in the `tools.config` dict,
and when saving config files (with the -s option).
Also clarified and cleaned up the descriptions of the HTTP/WEB server
parameters.
And finally, added a short version `-p`, for the `--http-port` option.

Now that we're closer to switching to P3 for good, these helpers have
outlived their usefulness, and mostly add noise.
All remaining dict.iter*() or dict.view*() must be converted to the
normal keys(), values() or items() calls.
Whenever the result is likely to be used for more than the scope of a
loop, or when the dict needs to be modified during iteration, the calls
must be wrapped in a ``list()``, to protect the new P3 semantics.
Those cases are very exceptional.
Also removed some dead code or improved the API to remove unnecessary
conversions.
* remove references to basestring & unicode (use relevant pycompat
helpers)
* remove some str calls (either entirely or replaced by relevant
helper, either text or native)
* use better API to avoid unnecessary conversions
* remove some XML declarations in views
In case `--db-filter` is not provided and `--database` is passed,
Odoo will not fetch the list of databases available in the postgres
server anymore because it does not have anything to match against this
list. Instead, `list_dbs()` will use the value of `--database` as a
comma separated list of exposed databases.
This allows better security hardening in postgres access rights.
Basically, that means that those commands
$ odoo-bin -d foobar
$ odoo-bin -d foo,bar,baz
are now respectively equivalent to those commands
$ odoo-bin -d foobar --db-filter='^foobar$'
$ odoo-bin -d foo,bar,baz --db-filter='^(foo|bar|baz)$'
The old behaviour can still be used with this command:
$ odoo-bin -d foobar --db-filter='.*'
In Python 3:
* various builtins and dict methods were changed to return
view/iterable objects rather than lists
* and the separate Python 2 view/iterable builtins and methods were
removed altogether
This is problematic when using these items as list (which the happens
repeatedly in Odoo), but more viciously when iterating *multiple times*
over them (which also happens, which I've messed up multiple times while
writing this, and which is a pain to debug even when you've just created
the issue).
Convert all code using these to semantics-matching cross-version
helper functions to get the LCD behaviour between P2 and P3, and
forbid the builtins via lint.
issue #8530
This commit introduce a full redesign of all JS views. We started
basically from scratch. The goal was to unify all the various views
under a common framework, to make them testable, to make then usable in
different conditions (in studio, or in the frontend), and to make our
lives easier.
Some important points are:
- we introduced new coding guidelines (camelCase, 80 chars width, ...)
- we have a brand new testing framework (still QUnit based)
- kanban view moved to the web addon
- calendar view (formerly web_calender) moved to web as well
- the tree view was removed
- all new code should be documented
We hope that this code is the start of a new era for the Odoo web
client, we want to have a high quality codebase, well documented, well
tested, well designed.
Work done by the framework team: mostly aab, ged, chm, dmo, qsm
For readability and coherence, in Python 3 the prefix for octal
literal becomes ``0o`` (rather than just ``0``). This new version was
also added to Python 2 as of 2.6.
Convert all octal literals in file-manipulation code (POSIX ACL), and
fix a few integers which were unwittingly octal.

Redundant with `in` and removed from Python 3.
Removed odd, old and long-unused UpdatableDict (which defines and uses
has_key) and UpdatableStr (which was nearby and caught in the blast),
validated with al.

in order to properly bootstrap a writeable data_dir when it is
(partially) nonexistant.
Depending on the startup parameters the data_dir might otherwise
have ended up read-only, preventing the creation of its necessary
components (session store, file store). Only the `addons` directory
of the data_dir needs to be read-only by default.
As discussed on issue #15225, it should be possible for system administrators
to disable the 1-click installation system.
The plan is to disable the feature by default, but make it relatively easy
to turn on when it is explicitly desired.
1. At the moment we cannot guarantee that all Apps published on the Odoo Apps
Store are safe. And it is a security risk to let end-users deploy Python
code on their Odoo servers without requiring any review/deployment by a
competent system administrator.
We will work on improving the validation process of the Store, but this
will require time, and won't probably be a 100% safe process in any case.
2. The one-click install feature is however really useful to help
non-technical users install Apps, as long as the feature has been
explicitly allowed by the system administrator. This is a common feature
in other software suites as well. So we'd like to keep it as an opt-in
feature.
3. Administrators of multi-tenant servers, cloud hosting services, etc.
understandably expect to be able to turn off the feature for
security/control reasons.
4. By turning off the feature by default, but still exposing it in the UI,
we keep it *discoverable* for users. The error message should be
helpful to direct users to their sysadmins.
5. By using the permissions of the download folder as a flag for turning
off the feature, we avoid introducing an extra server parameter.
The folder is still created (read-only) by default, for the sole purpose
of making it easier to locate.
