This basically reverts the parts of [1] that are the known cause of race
conditions in runbot tests (in particular, the link tools one:
`test_15_website_link_tools`). But more importantly, this just did not
make sense to stop observing changes for async period of time, at least
unless there is no alternative given the state of the related code.
Commit [1] test-hack was actually adapted with [2] which probably made
it even more unreliable and hacky.
On top of that, this commit is of course trying to restore whatever
purpose this was made for ("dirty" flag addition, the history steps
recording, etc). Although fixing those the most robust way would
probably require a deeper refactoring in master and other stable fixes.
Note: in this forward-ported version, the test is still disabled on
runbot and broken for other reasons. Those will be fixed later.

*: web_editor
The editor has a feature that allows to automatically select a whole
paragraph on click when that paragraph contains text by default. At the
origin, this happened at every click on the element, until its content
was replaced, by typing something while it is selected or the cursor is
inside. Placing the cursor inside was actually impossible by clicking on
the element, since this forced a selection on the whole text again.
Since [1], that behavior changed (for no apparent reason): only the
first click forces a selection on the element. This is done by removing
the marker class from the element ("o_default_snippet_text"). Also, the
code which removed that class while typing was left behind... even
though it did not work anymore due to a code typo.
This commit fixes that without changing the main behavior:
- On click, we do not remove the marker class anymore, but only force a
selection on the text if it was not already seen before. Small change
of behavior: not changing the text and coming back later in edit mode
will force a selection on the text again on click.
- While typing, the code removes the marker class and thus the text will
never have a forced selection again (fixed the code typo).
Note: we may reconsider restoring the behavior there was before [1], in
master. Automatically selecting default text that was never changed
could indeed be better, although it will require better code to allow
placing the cursor inside easily anyway.
The main purpose of this fix is to avoid a mutation of the DOM on click
(removing the marker class). Indeed, this wrongfully marked the page as
dirty.
Steps to reproduce:
- Enter edit mode
- Add a "Text - Image" snippet
- Save
- Enter edit mode again
- Click on the first paragraph of the snippet (=> it is auto-selected)
- Click on discard
=> A popup appears to say you will lose your changes... while you did
not make any.

Commit [1] made the multiple drag and drop feature of the editor stop
using jQuery and used our own implementation. Unfortunately, the
initialization of that implementation in the case of the "drag column
on image move" feature marked the page as dirty by mistake.
Steps to reproduce:

- Save
- Enter edit mode again
- Click on the image of the snippet (and do not do anything else)
- Click on discard
=> A popup appears to say you will lose your changes... while you did

*: web_editor
Next commits will extend the main new test to make sure the flows they
are fixing are not wrongfully marking the pages as dirty. This commit
introduces it on its own as it deserved some more detailed explanations.
In 15.0, where this commit is being merged, the final version of the
test was failing for no apparent reason on staging only. This is because
the staging builds are made with more apps... which fill the website
menu with more items in such a way the "+" auto-fold menu feature comes
in play. That feature is marking the page as dirty by mistake in this
version, 3 different ways for 3 different configurations:
- the menu is not folded outside of edit mode and when entering edit
mode, the "+" appears and some menu are folded
- the menu is folded outside of edit mode and when entering edit mode
the resize actually makes it so a different set of menu is folded
- the menu is folded outside of edit mode and when entering edit mode
it stays the same (known to have been broken because edit mode
tweaks the dropdown behavior)
The first problem with this is actually the way we check the page is
dirty in case of discard: we check the whole DOM and compare it to the
way it was when entering edit mode... the whole DOM, including the non
editable parts. This is wrong by definition but it is also weird that it
does not match what is done when we *save*: where we only consider
sections that are explicitly marked as dirty (.o_dirty) and other
exceptions. This can't be changed in stable though, some save / discard
override may rely on this (not marking with the o_dirty class etc).
In 15.0, the original commit of this forward-ported version fixed the
3rd case described above, which was less risky than fixing the 2 others.
The cause for the DOM diff in that case was the `data-toggle="dropdown"`
which mysteriously reappeared between the moment we check the "initial
DOM" and the "DOM when we try to discard". This was because of [1],
which makes the dropdowns behave differently in edit mode, combined with
the fact that the "+" menu is re-rendered after each resize (and one is
triggered when entering edit mode since [2], originally for that
actually). That behavior is however apparently not needed for the "+"
dropdown, so we simply disable it. Some lower level fix is still needed
but will be done in master, as the real problem falls in the dirty page
detection system. A test was added for this specific third case.
In 16.0, this is different: all 3 cases seem fixed, probably indirectly
thanks to the website-in-iframe refactoring at [3] and the bootstrap 5
migration at [4]. Not sure. This forward-port commit thus only adds
tests and a bunch of comments. Note that what was said about the 15.0
version was actually not entirely true: "That behavior is however
apparently not needed for the "+" dropdown, so we simply disable it." is
actually wrong. Indeed, it changed the behavior when clicking *outside*
of the extra items menu (which is less important). A patch in 15.0 will
be backported anyway to explain that.
To make the final test pass, it ensures most menus are removed so that
the "+" feature is basically disabled always during the test. Behaviors
will of course be fixed in further versions.
Note that in this 16.0 forward-ported version, a test kinda already
existed for this... although it was badly written and the code that was
merged with it actually worsened the dirty check behavior. See [5].
This commit adds comments around some more problematic parts.

Since [this other commit], the recipient email option of the form on the
`/contactus` page is not filled correctly with the company email.
By chance, the form signature task fixed the bug but introduced another
one. The previous commit fixed the bug introduced by the form signature
task but reintroduced the inital bug. This commit fixes the initial bug
and adds a test.
By default, the form on the `/contactus` page sends emails to the email
address of the company. Unfortunately, before this commit, when a user
entered edit mode, the Recipient E-mail option always displayed
"info@yourcompany.example.com" even when the company's e-mail address
was different. This commit corrects this by displaying the dynamic value
of `company.email` in the Recipient E-mail option coming from the
data-for.
Steps to reproduce the issue fixed by this commit:
- Go to Settings > General Settings
- Update the company's email address
- Go to /contactus and edit
- Click on the form
=> The recipient email value is still "info@yourcompany.example.com"
instead of the company's email address.
This commit fixes the issue, adds a test to ensure the recipient email
option is correct and adds a utility to parse the data-for data.
Bonus: this commit also fixes the following issue catched by sentry:
- Go to /contactus
- Click on Edit
- In the Form option, remove the content of the 'Recipient Email' field.
- Save
- Fill and submit the form
=> An error is generated in the log.

Steps to reproduce:
- Add a "Form" snippet on the website.
- Select the first field.
- Try to toggle the "description" option of the field.
-> Problem: there is no description added on the field.
The problems appeared since [this PR] and comes more precisely from
[this commit]. The problem is that one condition required to fill the
`default_description` parameter is that `field.type === "description"`.
This should not be the case. Indeed, here was the flow before
[this commit]; When the user toggled the description option,
`toggleDescription` assigned `field.description` to `true`. The field
was then rendered trough `renderField()`. During this rendering, the
system called the `website.form_field_description` template through
`website.form_field` independently of the field type. Because
`field.description` was set to `true`, a `div` with the description
"Describe your field here." was added on the rendered field. To solve
the problem, the `field.type === "description"` condition has been
removed as a condition to set the `default_description` parameter. Now,
as it was the case before [this commit], this parameter is filled either
if `field.description` is set, either if the field name is `email_cc` or
`email_to`.
The error probably comes from the fact that the name of the template
used to render the field is `"website.form_field_" + field.type`. As the
name of the template in charge of rendering the description is
`website.form_field_description`, the author probably thought that this
template should only be called when `field.type === "description"`. This
is not the case; the template `website.form_field_description` is always
called when rendering a field (independently of the field type through
the template `website.form_field`) but is only relevant if
`default_description` is set.
Note that this fix fixes also another bug:
- Add a "Form" snippet on the website.
- Add a field which is of type "Cc".
-> Problem: there should be a description of type "Separate email
addresses with a comma." on the field.
This commit also adapts the `website_form_editor_tour` tour to verify
that the description option works as wanted.

When using the "Social Media" snippet, there are two situations leading
to a traceback. Here are the steps:
1) First issue
- In edit mode, drop the "Social Media" snippet.
- Add a new social network.
- Replace the icon by a real image (so not by an other icon).
- Set the URL of the new social network to a "relevant" one (e.g.
google, facebook).
=> traceback
2) Second issue
- Drop "Social Media" and change the list in order to have the first
social network with a real image as icon: either replace the first icon
with an image, or add a custom one with an image an move it to the top.
- Add a new social network.
=> traceback
Both issues happen because only icons set as `<i>` elements are taken
into account when modifying a social network (`querySelector('i')`) and
this element may not exist if the icon had another tag (like an image or
a span or even a video (as the media dialog allows to upload them)). As
there is no check ensuring that the element exists before changing the
different social media classes, there is a traceback when the `<i>` is
not found.
For the first issue, it happens because when changing the URL, we first
check if it matches with relevant ones or if an icon matching it exists.
If it is the case, we then update the social media classes to set the
matching icon => it can only work if the icon is a `<i>`.
The second issue happens because when adding a new social network, it
actually copies the style of the first one (unless there are none, a new
one is created in that case). If the first one is an image, it fails
when updating the classes because it is not a `<i>`.
This commit fixes these issues by simply adding checks ensuring the icon
element exists before trying to modify it. It also adds tests, ensuring
these use cases work as expected.

At the end of the procedure, the last field visibility depends on itself
and a circular visibility dependency is created. To solve the problem,
this commit checks that the renamed field does not bring a circular
dependency while updating the dependencies. If it is the case, the
problematic dependency is deleted.
To resolve this bug, the `visitedFields` set has been introduced. Its
goal is to register the already visited fields to not enter an infinite
check loop. Let's take an example to illustrate this: Imagine there is a
form of type A->B->C->D. In this form, the field "A" depends on "B" that
depends on "C" that depends on "D". Imagine you rename "D" by "B". You
now have A->B->C->B. The system will check that the renamed field does
not create a circular dependency. To do so, it will apply
`_recursiveFindCircular` with "A" as the `targetFieldEl` and "B" as the
`dependentFieldEl`. Because there is a circular dependency between "C"
and "B", the system would enter in an infinite loop. Note that we do not
notify the system if such indirect circular dependency has been found as
it will be detected as a direct circular dependency while the system
will apply `_recursiveFindCircular` with `C` as the `targetFieldEl`.

A field with a conditional visibility is visible if at at least one

case, it exists a circular dependency between "a" and one of the "b"
leading to an infinite loop during this check. Before this commit all
the fields of the form were checked and all the labels of the fields
that do not create a circular dependency were proposed in the file
visibility selector. The problem is that in our case, one of the "b"

adapted in order to not propose a label that would create a circular

The chosen URL was supposed to be applied to the link, but it is not.
The same applies for the LinkDialog (create a link with the "/link"

Reason:
It might be a little confusing, but the `_onURLInput` method actually
means "update UI according to the URL" (more specifically, display/hide
the "Open In New Window" and "Autoconvert To Relative Link" buttons).
The `__onURLInput` (two underscores) method, on the other hand, is the

The goal of this commit is to replace the "Toggle underline" option
from the website's text editor by a new "Highlight effects" option which
should allow applying some highlights on the selected text and setting
their color & thickness. Also, the text editor "Toggle strikethrough"
option will be moved to the list of highlight effects in the new option.
For this purpose, the JS code used for text animations will be updated
to be more generic and handle text highlights too. Moreover, The "Text
Highlight" options will be applied by adding a SVG to the targeted text
element (allowing to adjust their `stroke` and `stroke-width`).
To simplify adapting highlights when the text content is updated,
we follow this generic structure:
```
<span class="o_text_highlight">
<span class="o_text_highlight_item">
line1-textNode1 [line1-textNode2,...]
```
Rendered line breaks in text nodes are detected using range client
rectangles (see: `text_processing.js` > `splitNodeLines()`), and the
highlights are updated on window resize...
We also need to adjust highlight SVGs to fit an updated text in "edit
mode" (mainly using editor's commands), a `MutationObserver` is used
for this purpose (we only redraw the SVG for each text unit).
A simple SVG path generator was implemented in this commit (see:
`text_processing.js` > `drawPath()`) to build highlights. It applies a
list of SVG path commands according to text dimensions in a specific
mode (E.g. on "pattern" mode, we repeat the same elementary path to fit
targeted text node...).
Remarks:
- The `--text-highlight-width` and `--text-highlight-color` properties
are used to control the highlight effect's thickness and color.
- We build the highlight option preview in the same way as text content.
To achieve this, a hack was used (we open the `<we-select/>` first since
we need the right `getBoundingClientRect()` dimensions to correctly draw
highlight SVGs).

This commit refactors the website AceEditor to owl. The wrapper
around the lib was defined in web_editor, and extended in website,
where it was used (single usecase). This commit thus introduces an
owl Component to replace it, directly in website, and specialized
to the website usecase.
This thus allows to remove the legacy implementation.
This also removes the last usecase of Widget and select2 library
in the backend bundle, which will allow to trim it down.

This commit introduces options for the flex column layout and the
horizontal resizing to be used on mobile and be independent from
the desktop layout.
This makes it possible to:
- Have different number of columns on mobile and on desktop.
- Use different column widths and offsets for mobile and desktop.
- Reorder columns independently.
The behavior expected from the columns is:
- In the editor panel, Cols indicate the number of columns per row on
both mobile and desktop. The option is conditional of your environment:
you edit the number for the screen size of your current resolution.
- When columns have different sizes (either because it is the default
behavior of the snippet, or because the user resized some), the counter
should read "Custom". Same when the user changed some offsets.
- If manual modifications were made on width and offset, they are reset
on the current display if the number of elements is updated. This was
decided because an old, specific layout with custom offsets / width
doesn't work well with a different number of elements. (This is also the
default behavior before this PR with desktop-only modifications.)
The expected behavior when reordering is:
- On mobile, it should only affect the mobile layout.
- On desktop, it should affect both layouts.
In order to have a coherent feature on both mobile and desktop as well
as correct some non-ideal but non-blocking behaviors, the commit also
changes the following behaviors:
- When setting a columns count lower than the current number of items in
the `.row` container, extra items are now wrapped on the next flex-rows
(still within the container) instead of being deleted.
- When going from e.g. 3 to 5 columns (and as many items), the change
happens all at once instead of each item being visibly added one by one
on the next row, then brought back to the first row.
- The columns count automatically updates when resizing an item, instead
of updating only after you click somewhere else on the snippet.
This commit also adds a test to validate the new behavior.

This commit changes the way the font size selector works. Before this
commit, the font size selector applied a hardcoded font size using the
style attribute of the selected element. The purpose of this commit is
to change this to apply a class on the selected element, making it
responsive and customizable.
In all Odoo applications, the font size selector will now apply a class
on the current selection. An exception is made for mass mailing where
the class would not make much sense as not related to the custom heading
sizes (probably needs to be refactored in the future to use the standard
font-size classes) and fonts cannot be responsive in mails anyway (so
there would be a difference between preview and sent mail).
Those classes are:
- `display-N-fs` with N in [1 => 4]. The sizes are stored in the
`$display-font-sizes` map.
- `hN-fs` with N in [1 => 6]. The sizes are stored in the
`$hN-font-size` variables.
- `small` for the small font size. The size is stored in the
`$small-font-size` variable.
The font size selector shows the value of the class (which is dynamic)
that will be applied.
In the website application, the value of each class is configurable
thanks to a previous commit. The user can choose the size of each font
size class in the website settings.
Note that many alternatives were considered for this feature, this is
the chosen compromise. For the record, here is a very short summary of
the alternatives:
- Doing nothing: voted as the worse idea. Users see a font-size selector
they will use it one way or another. The font-size won't be
responsive, breaking their mobile website. And there are real use
cases you could not do: a big "promotion" paragraph on your product
page? Not possible: you either break your mobile page (using the font
size option) or possibly hurt your SEO (using the font-style option
and turning your paragraph into an h1).
- Removing the font-size selector: we did not want the loss of the
feature as there are correct usecases to use it (as mentioned above).
- Using the Bootstrap hN and display-N classes instead of making new
ones. Closed to be the chosen idea but discarded because those classes
comes with colors (that the user can configure) and it would feel
weird to have the color change when changing the font-size. Also, in
the end, we also did not want the line-height, margins, etc of those
classes (only the font-size).
- Instead of X new classes, have only one: o-fs, which would be applied
alongside a bootstrap hN or display-N class, when chosen by the user,
to cancel the unwanted style of those. It works but it forces us to
always have an added `<span>` to apply the font-size, which we don't
want in the future (mainly because of display-N classes, see next
commit). It is actually very needed to be able to use proper
line-height when reducing the font.
- Using a combination of an inline `em` font-size + a class to clamp it
on mobile. Was probably the best next idea but rejected for several
reasons. The main one probably being the inconsistency when changing
the whole size of a title/paragraph (not part of it) and later
changing the related theme size later. E.g. have an `<h1>` followed by
a `<p>`. The h1 is 40px, the paragraph is 20px. Force the title to
20px, because you want it smaller, same size as the paragraph. Real
use case but also users could simply use the font-size controls by
mistake. We would thus apply 0.5em to do that. Later, change the theme
font-size of h1 to 36px (small change). The 0.5em one is now 18px,
smaller than the following paragraph. Preventing that would require
more checks which would "break" other things / possibilities.
- Probably others that were forgotten.
In the end, there was no good or bad answer. "Anything works", as long
as the feature "I want this text smaller/bigger" is there. The
surrounding features are always compromise (some users would expect some
behavior, some users would expect others). This commit focused on
solving the unresponsiveness of those custom font-sizes, which was a
problem for many users.

This commit removes the module sortable from jQueryUI and adds instead a
sortable service to use the sortable code already used by the backend.
The service can be called using `this.call("sortable", ...)` and the
sortable listeners are added when the `enable` function is called.
This function (`enable()`) returns an object that contains the `cleanup`
function (`cleanup()`).
```javascript
// start / setup
const sortable = this.call(
"sortable",
"create",
{
ref: { el: document.querySelector(".list") },
elements: ".items",
handle: ".drag-icon",
},
);
// on attach callback / on mounted
const sortableInstance = sortable.enable();
// on destroy / on willUnmount
sortableInstance.cleanup();
```
Also, it adds some new property to the useSortable:
* clone: the placeholder is a clone of the drag element
* placeholderClasses: classes added to the placeholder element
* applyChangeOnDrop: on drop the change is applied to the DOM
* followingElementClasses: classes added to the element following mouse

When one starts a trial with the website app, they arrive on a webpage
in edit mode. Many users struggle to understand they need to save before
accessing the Odoo navbar (app switcher, creation of new page, etc.).
Additionally, if they want to navigate through Odoo, not having to
discard could save some time.
It was therefore decided to land on the homepage without editor after
creating a website. The first step of the homepage tour should then be
to click on the edit button.
When creating an empty website (skipping the configurator), the website
loader is shown until the page is ready, to avoid the user leaving the
page before the first step is displayed.
On another related note, if one wants to try out the Odoo website
builder, they might create multiple DB, one per website, which is OK. In
such a case, the link to 'my database' is not visible from the website
app because the user profile was hidden.
The user menu is therefore added to the navbar on the website app.
In order to make sure the header and its dropdowns always stay on top of
the website's elements regardless of their z-index, `.o_website_preview`
is blocked in its own stacking context with `isolation: isolate;`.

This commit simplifies the UX of the 'Custom Group by' menu. Before this

Now, a select element is used instead, allowing a better user experience, by

The livechat button was disabled in website preview because
its implementation could not properly handle being in an iframe
inside the backend [1].
With the public livechat code being refactored to use discuss code,
this is no longer a problem, so the livechat button can be present
again. This also makes previewing the website more correct: the
livechat button is actual present on the website, so hiding it was
a lie.
By re-enabling the livechat button, this also allow to remove the

to tour being small and doing `im_livechat/init` rpc after the end

---- Horizontal spacing issue ----
The horizontal spacing between systray items in the patched website
systray is too small. It was using the regular margin of the default
Odoo systray which is composed of almost only icons for which a small
spacing is what we need.
But the website patched systray contains a lot of text, where we want a
bigger spacing, exactly how we do for the app menus.
---- New class on systray ----
To target the website systray in scss, a new class was added on it.
There is no clean way in JS to add that class, as the website systray
patch is only altering the method in charge of returning the systray
items. The rest is left up to the base NavBar class component, including
rendering.
That NavBar component does not come with a built in way to add a class.
We could have targeted the DOM directly in the patch through
`this.root.el` and added the class in JS directly but that seems like an
owl anti pattern.
---- Vertical align issue ----
Before this commit, the btn in the systray didn't have the same line
height as other elements: both the "Edit" (in main lang) and "Translate"
(in alternate lang) buttons had a (1-2px) vertical alignment issue.
This was because, despite having the same font style and font size, they
had a different line-height making it glitch 1-2px vertically.
It's a bit less visible for the Edit button as there is a pencil icon
between this text and the text next to it.
For the translate button, it's quite visible directly.
For testing purpose, you can simply remove the icons and the left-right
margins of those systray items so the text are glued to each other and
you clearly see the misindentation.
---- Misc ----
For tracking purpose, there is multiple cases to be tested regarding
those buttons:
- Community vs Enterprise (where those are colored)
- Regular mode vs translate mode

Steps to reproduce the bug:
- Drop the "Form" snippet on the website.
- Add a new field.
- Replace the field label by "test\".
- Save.
=> Traceback of type "Cannot read properties of null (reading
'dataset')" appears.
In the `start()` function of the `s_website_form` public widget, the
field names of the form are extracted thanks to the `serializeArray()`
function. The field elements are then found by doing a `querySelector()`
on the field names. In our case, the field name of the new field
extracted by `serializeArray()` is `test\\` (there are two backslashes
because the field name is a string so the first backslash has to be
escaped by a second backslash). The problem is that this string has to
be escaped one more time in order to be used in a `querySelector()`. As
it is not the case, the result of the `querySelector()` is `null`
leading to a traceback when the code tries to access its dataset. To
solve the problem, the character `\` is encoded before being stored in
the `name`, `data-name` or `data-visibility-dependency` attribute of the
field element. Thanks to the encoding, the `querySelector()` operation
can perform correctly on those attributes.
