When using message_post, the body format must be explicitly specified.
If html is expected, a Markup object should be used.
If text is given, the content will be escaped.
Before this PR:
message_post was unaware if the content of a message was HTML or
text. This lead to multiple situation where the content was
incorrectly considered as HTML and led to display errors.
In
self.message_post(body="Hello %s!" % self.name)
if the name contained HTML, it would be evaluated.
In
self.message_post(body="Contact Raoul <raoul@caramail.be>")
the email would not be displayed as considered as unknown HTML and
discarded by the sanitizer
Now each call must explict the type of content.
Use the escape() helper to properly combine Markup and translations.
It would also be acceptable to use Markup() to wrap a static
translation but escape is better as one can not guarantee the content
of a translation.

Steps to reproduce:
- Install l10n_mx modules
- Switch to MX company
- Create invoice and confirm it
- Send it to PAC in test environment (Process Now button)
- Click Send & Print button
Issue:
- XML Preview does not display, only shows the file name in the top right corner of the chatter.
Cause:
In l10n_mx_edi, when posting the invoice, the only attachment available is the xml sent to the government in `_message_set_main_attachment_id`.
Therefore the xml is set as the main attachment.
When clicking on "Send and Print", the pdf is generated but the main attachment is still the xml
Solution:
Redefine the main attachment everytime the the main attachment is an xml

SPECIFICATIONS
Move recipients and email layout rendering into a method returning an iterator.
That way a list of recipient groups (as given by '_notify_get_recipients') can
be split into sub-groups, with each having its own rendering values for
email notifications.
Do a split / recipient lang. It is already fetched when notifying messages
as part of '_get_recipient_data' returned values. We now return recipients
groups per lang and per usage type (user, portal, customer, ...). Rendering
values are computed for each group as several values depend on the lang (
actions, notification buttons, global layout, ...).
Layouts when posting are dependent on recipient lang, and not on current user

PURPOSE
Correctly propagate lang from template in all situations whenever a template
is used, and translate all layout parts.
SPECIFICATIONS
When using the composer to post messages (either as comment or in batch) the
language coming from the template is not propagated until the notification
process.
A hack has been done to try to guess the language inside the notification
process, based on context keys at odoo/odoo@9e71d228ed. This was done to partly fix
the bug in stable.
Since odoo/odoo@3eb9680602 it is possible to propagate a lang from 'message_post' or
'message_notify' calls until the notification process. We can therefore call
the posting methods using the rendered lang (in both mono and multi record
modes) and remove that hack.
When a lang is propagated using the 'force_email_lang' it is used to choose
the language of the layout (content, buttons). Currently all recipients
receives the same language for layouting. We plan to soon use the recipient
language when possible, then fallback on that forced lang. This will offer
more granularity and a better user experience.
When using scheduled messages (creating message but delaying the sending of
notifications) it is also working as notification parameters are saved when
creating the scheduling record, see odoo/odoo@9b11a9d82b.
EXAMPLE
A user in english uses a template on a lead whose customer is in spanish
with a follower being in german. Template lang is customer's lang:
* content is translated into spanish (customer's lang);
* layout is translated into spanish (customer's lang);
Both recipients (customer and follower) receive the content in spanish.

As composer is not translated -> no translation -> ko;
PURPOSE
Take translations from template when composer content is the same as the
template one to benefits from their translations.
SPECIFICATIONS
When rendering some fields fetching translations can be complicated. Indeed
when using a template the translation is stored on template model while the
rendering is done on composer model. Translations are therefore not fetched
as fields of the composer record itself are not translated. It is a transient
record, not something people translate manually like templates.
As translations are not stored in a table anymore we can't really fetch
translations, except from using directly the template field. In this commit
we therefore do the rendering based on template value instead of composer
value when they are considered as equal and if a translation is asked either
through 'compute_lang' of 'force_lang'. This allows to fetch template
translations instead of composer translations.
If the composer content has been modified compared to the template we keep
the old behavior, which means probably no translations. Let us hope editor
does not mess too much with html content.
EXAMPLE
A user in english uses a template on a lead whose customer is in spanish
with a follower being in german. Template lang is customer's lang:
* content is translated into spanish (customer's lang);
Concerning layout (to be fixed in next commits):
* layout is partly translated into spanish (customer's lang) if coming from

* move the filler of groups into its own submethod to ease being called
from other code (to be used soon);
* fix some strange overrides or code manipulation;
* propagate some additional parameters to ease future commits that will

Purpose is to add some tests about email layout support in both comment and
email mode, as well as language support in those two modes. They are added
in a test targeting a complete template usage, testing globally the results
(outgoing notifications or emails, buttons, language, recipients, ...).
Posting in multi-languages environment with notification layout is also
tested. Finally a test about reply-to is moved into its own subtest to
avoid polluting core template tests. Other low level details should already
sufficiently tested. Normally.
Main observations
* translations are quite broken in mass mode (either batch comment either
mass mailing). Indeed translations are fetched based on <mail.compose.
message> body and subject fields, which are probably not translated
as they are linked to a transient model. Real translations are stored
at <mail.template> level when users translate their templates;
* layout translation is partly supported in comment mode, due to a small
context-based hack. However access buttons are not translated and some
use case (like using a 'res_domain') are not supported;
* mass_mail mode does not support layouting at all;
* when posting manually ('message_post') current users' language determines
the language of notification email layout e.g. a user using Odoo in French
will send a french layout to all followers, whatever their language and
whatever the language of the post (which is not known as user input);
Most of those use cases will be fixed soon.
Also update some query counters while passing by.

Bug
===
The unlink of the <mail.mail> in the CRON is problematic because we
accumulate a lot of records, and the CRON timeout.
In particular, when we sent a mailing, we receive the "opened" event
(blank image in the email), and so we need to update the mailing trace.
But, if we unlink the mail at the same time, it locked the mailing trace
table and we couldn't write the new value.
The reason for that is that before, the unlink took more queries, but
it was done one record at a time, so we could commit the change and
release the lock between each unlink.

Remove _onchange_template_id / defaults usage for composer fields. It
lacks control and make value computation hard to understand and predict.
PURPOSE
Split _onchange_template_id + default_get + get_record_data usage into editable
computed stored fields. Each field should have its own method with its triggers
(template, composition mode, ...).
SPECIFICATIONS
Improve composer to correctly compute field ``auto_delete(_keep_log)`` in
compute methods.
For auto_delete, computation is coming either from template, either from
composition mode. When having a template, its value copied. Without template
it is True in comment mode to remove notification emails by default. In email
mode we keep emails (backward compatibility mode).
For auto_delete_keep_log, it is used only in email mode. It is used to keep
the core message when unlinking sent emails. It allows to keep the message as
a trace in the record's chatter. In other modes it has no use and can be set
to False. When auto_delete is turned off it has no usage.

When posting a message, author is added in followers in order to receive
answers. They also do not receive its own messages, to avoid being notified
of something they just posted.
However the real author is not always the message author. In this commit
we better define this author
* when current user is active, real author is the current user. It means
posting on behalf of someone will send answers to you, not to the
spoofed partner;
* when current user is inactive, real author is the message author. An
inactive current user means the post was probably done as sudo, aka
in the mailgateway or frontend. In that case we don't want to add
odoobot in followers, but the actual message author;
Task-3093257 (Mail: The Composer Update)
Part-of: odoo/odoo#107356
Currently notification process called notably by message_{post,notify} does
not notify message's author by default. Rationale is that as he typed the
message he is already aware of it.
However in some cases we want to skip this step, notably when messages are
generated in the name of the author and when we want him to be notified if
he should.
This is currently controllable through a context key 'mail_notify_author'.
In this commit we add an explicit parameter propagated through the notify
process, allowing to remove some context key usage and instead use real
parameters.
Note that all context keys usage cannot be removed as it is not always
possible to propagate this parameter.

RATIONALE
Purpose of this commit is to cleanup main post helpers and have a more easy
and understandable way of calling them.
SUMMARY
We now have two main API methods, based on business flow: either posting
on documents, either sending a mass mailing. Indeed those two flows are
different
* post: create message, then launch notification process by taking into
account subtype, followers, ...
* mail: create mails in batch with recipients being based on template or
given partners. No notifications is involved, only maybe traces if a
mass mailing is linked
Delegate QWeb rendering to the render mixin (i.e. _render_template_qweb_view)
in order to have a single point to forge evaluation context and re-use
existing rendering code.
SPECIFICATIONS
Main API helpers are now
* ``message_post_with_source``: (batch) post on records, using an ir.ui.view
(given a record or its xml id) or a mail.template record (given a record or
its xml id). When using a template, a composer is called to post on each
record (as batch post is not yet supported). When using a view, a direct
call to message_post using the rendered bodies is done, one record at a
time.
* ``message_mail_with_source``: send a mass mailing on records, acting like
invoking the mail composer in mass mode. Same arguments are valid, either
a reference to a view, either a reference to a mail template.
Other helpers are
* ``_message_log_with_view``: (batch) log on records, using an ir.ui.view
to render the body using QWeb (no notification process);
* ``_message_log(_batch)``: (batch) log on records (no notification process);
* ``message_notify``: notify partners on records (creating notifications
specifically for some people while message itself is not displayed in
chatter);
Code migration
* ``message_post_with_template`` in "mass mode": use ``message_mail_with_source``
and set the template record as source;
* ``message_post_with_template`` in "comment" mode: use ``message_post_with_source``
and set the template record as source;
* ``message_post_with_view``: its main usage was to post on a document, in which
case it generally can be replaced by ``message_mail_with_source`` using
the view reference as source;
Task-2710804 (Mail: Clean MailThread Posting API)
Part-of: odoo/odoo#99482
Purpose of this commit is to clearly check input of ``message_post`` method
and its main helpers in order to prevent wrong usage of message post API.
Some values used to populate message fields should not be set directly when
posting or logging messages. Indeed they may be part of other process (like
notification process managed by ``_notify_thread``, or could be setup by
custom routes like 'reaction_ids', or custom usage of 'model' and 'res_id'
that could conflicts with record on which methods are called).
We therefore add checks and cleanup in those methods to be sure the API
is used as intended and avoid unwanted side effects.

RATIONALE
Purpose of this commit is to be explicit in subtype chosen when invoking the
message composer / calling message_post. As default value may not always be
clear, better be explicit in case the composer default value changes.
SPECIFICATIONS
Add explicit references to subtype when it is not obvious what will be the
final subtype, notably when using helpers (post_with_view or template which
uses the composer that is not crystal clear in its subtype management).
In this commit we also add support of XMLID-based subtype when invoking the
composer. A ``default_subtype_xmlid`` context key is transformed into a
``default_subtype_id``, to be used notably in JS where we cannot easily
use a ``ref``-like statement. Post API now also supports 'subytpe_xmlid'
argument allowing to give the xml id and ease calling the methods.
Use ``_xmlid_to_res_id`` to get directly the ID of subtypes in order to
avoid useless queries from ``ref`` that does an exists.
Also remove useless values given to post API, notably author_id that is by
default the current users' partner.

All emails sent from the chatter start with "Re:" followed
by the name of the record. The name of the record alone is sometimes not enough for
the followers to understand what the mail is about.
Additionally, "Re:" does not make sense when starting a conversation.

to override the default subject of messages.
This also removes "Re:" from default mail subjects.

The field `notified_partner_ids` has type Many2many with relation table
`mail_message_res_partner_needaction_rel` [1] which is a regular Odoo model
`mail.notification` with some extra fields. One of those fields is required:
`notification_type`.
On copying `mail.message` record, ORM copies Many2many fields directly without
using `default_get` method for `mail.notification` model. Particularly,
`notification_type` get null value and we get an error.
STEPS
1. Create Server Action for `mail.message` model:
```py
for message in (records or record):
message.copy({
"subject": message.subject + "(SA copied)",
})
```
2. Add contextual action
3. Open `mail.message` which has non-empty value on
`notified_partner_ids` (*Partners with Need Action*)
4. Run the Server action via Action menu.
PROBLEM

DETAIL: Failing row contains (11, 210, null, 3, null, null, null, null, null,

SOLUTION
Fix it by adding `copy=False`, because we don't want to copy those values
anyway (confirmed by TDE).

Purpose of this commit is to add tests on translations when using templates
and composer, on both email content (body, subject) and email layouting
content (view content, groups-based buttons, ...). This better highlights
some missing part of translation support, notably
* when being in mass mode: as content is taken from the composer and rendered
dynamically, it does not take the original translation from the template
even if it matches template content exactly;
* access button title is not translated as it is added during a separate
part of the process;
We also improve tests for ``mail.composer.mixin``. The wizard used in test
(mail.test.composer.mixin) is improve to behave more like a real invite
wizard: it runs on records (mail.test.composer.source) which are records
on which dynamic content is rendered. This highlights one issue with
translations: translations are fetched on current model (aka: composer
body and subject fields). However when using templates, translations are
stored on template model (aka: mail.template). This will be improved soon
by trying to fetch template translations when composer content matches
content from template.

Purpose is to try to have code easier to read and to update by having a
common way of sorting / writing code. Reorder some fields definitions and

Additional stuff worth noting here
* add some tagged in tests helping debugging / choosing tests to execute;
* in a test about mail generation with server action: correctly check
body_html field, not body which comes from the mail.message inheritance
(currently filled due to a side effect but actual field to check is the
html one);
* add same check on input for ``_render_template_qweb`` as done on other
rendering methods (even if rendering on [False] should be supported);
* move code translation update from specific tests into main test class

Some test linting done here
* reorder mail_render tests, remove some duplicated tests;

In this operation the layout of message_notification_email has been integrated
in mail_notification_layout to support outlook mail client for which
message_notification_email has just been reworked (odoo/odoo#92847).

Issue: when using Amazon's SES SMTP service they rewrite the Message-Id of all
outgoing messages. When someone replies, In-Reply-To contains the SES Message-Id
which we don't know. Threading is therefore broken. Amazon requires to remember
new Message-Id and handle it ourself, which is complicated [1].
Possible solution: copy the Message-Id to References in outgoing message as if
we were pretending that the message is part of a pre-existing thread with
itself. Since Amazon does not alter References it is kept during transport.
Replies will therefore contain both Amazon Message-Id and Odoo Message-Id as
well as original parent Message-Id in case of nested replies.
* ``In-Reply-To``: Amazon Msg-Id
* ``References``: Odoo Parent Msg-Id Odoo Msg-Id

PURPOSE
Cleanup and improve post-related tests. As composer and posting methods will
soon be improved better ensure we don't break flows.
SPECIFICATIONS
Cleanup tests added for message_post and the related API (notify, log, with
view or template, ...) as well as sub-methods (notify, recipients computation
and classification, ...).
Use existing tools, reorder and add some details check on content. Add some
tests with attachments, notably with main_attachment management.

Steps :
- Make sure the Admin is notified by mail;
- Set an Alias Domain for the company.
- Create a Project with an Alias e-mail address.
- Send an e-mail to this alias.
Issues :
In the admin mailbox, see the signature is: `<p>-- <br/>False</p>`, which means two issues.
- It is not unescaped from Html.
- The content of the signature is 'False'.
Cause :
When no user is related to the sender of the mail, we manually set a signature.
- It was written between html tags, so it should be sanitized.
- Its content was author.name, yet author is a partner, so if there is
no partner, name is False.
Fix :
- Sanitize the html code of the signature.
- If there is no partner for this sender, use email_from, or else ''.

Expected Behaviour
When a user get a mail from the data cleaning about records to examine, the View button should be linked to the same url as the 'here' hyperlink or not be in the e-mail.
Observed behaviour
Clicking the link in the View button lead to an error page
Reproducibility
This bug can be reproduced following these steps:
1. Duplicate a contact
2. Wait for the scheduled task to launch
3. Click on the View button of the mail you'll get about te duplicate
Problem Root Cause
This issue is coming from the way we create the 'View' and 'View Task' button, and can't be changed easily. The easier way to fix this issue is then to hide these button

In order to make fields a bit more explicit, let us rename "add_sign" to
"email_add_signature". It indicates it is linked to the email notification
process, adding the signature depending on the notification layout itself.
This is done on both mail.message and mail.compose.message models. It is
also updated as rendering value parameter used in notification emails.
Task-2712450 (Mail/Sale: Improve 'Pay Now' notification template)
Part-of: odoo/odoo#82167
Purpose of this commit is to add tests for language-based tweaks of email
notification layouts and composer usage. Purpose is to assess current
behavior before going into some cleaning or refactoring. Notably
* check layout content is translated;
* check "view document" button is translated;
* check action buttons are translated;
* check content based on templates is translated;
This is currently mainly available through the "lang" context key being
correctly set. Partial support of translations when posting based on template
is tested (content and model description but not notification layout).
Failing support in mass mail mode is tested. Future improvements will be
done in order to improve language support.
Note that ``MailTemplate.send_mail()`` email sending method language support
is tested in ``test_mail_template`` file. Those tests are updated to share
a common base with new tests about language setup.
Task-2712450 (Mail/Sale: Improve 'Pay Now' notification template)
Part-of: odoo/odoo#82167
PURPOSE
Global purpose is to rename some methods and add some docstrings to clean
API of notification methods used in mail thread. Notably use _notify_thread
prefix for main methods, and _notify_by_'mean' for tool sub-methods.
SPECIFICATIONS
Remove unused arguments coming from old implementation and usage. They were
introduced notably for performance reason when cache was more often invalidated
which is not the case anymore. Anyway when parameters are unused it is always
better to remove them.
Remove ``notify_by_email`` parameter in ``_notify_thread``. It is only used
in channels to avoid notifying people of some automated notifications. The
same behavior has been cleanly implemented at odoo/odoo@018820d .
Rename methods, starting with ``_notify(_records)`` to ease their grouping
and understanding. Add some additional prefixes like ``_notify_by_'mean'``
and ``_notify_get_recipients`` for recipients related computation. Add some
docstrings, notably when parameters usage is not clear.
Some linting is also performed in updated actions, just to lessen styling
issues notably on runbot.
This commit should not change anything functionally as it contains only
some renaming and docstrings updates as well as some outdated parameters
removal.

Jinja as a templating engine was problematic in differents respect:
- introduce external dependency to Odoo (less controll)
- add another templating mechanism in the stack
- specific feature in qweb cannot be reused
- difficulty in rendering easily editable templates
- more knowledge required with no betterment
By replacing jinja with qweb we can now build tools to edit a qweb
that will work with the previously jinja encoded document
(essentially `mail.template` records).
There is a catch however. Some email fields (eg. email_to) used jinja
syntax for rendering dynamic variables (ie. ${object.something} and
${object.something_that_should_not_be_escaped | safe}).
We still want user to use dynamic variables for some char fields (eg.
subject, from, to, ...). We made a new rendering engine called
"inline_template" that will render an expression enclosed by `{{` and
`}}`.
To be able to edit the templates from the backend interface, a
plugin to the Odoo editor has been made for seamlessly edit the
document.
This qweb plugin includes:
- make dynamic variables (eg. `<t t-out="variable"/>`) not editable
(for preventing the user to shoot himself in the foot)
- group and hide related logical branching (ie. t-if, t-elif, and t-else)
in order to see only one at once
- a floating select input to switch visibility of a particular logical
branching

Add tests for notification layouts. Purpose of this commit is to test rendering
of all current email notification layouts, ensuring they effectively render
well whatever changes done in mail thread mixin code about template preparation
or rendering. They should also correctly render on simple chatter models which
is currently not the case.
A test ensuring message_post returns an ID when called by RPC should be
called post install. That way we test overrides that frequently break
this method API, and not only the base one.

X-original-commit: d7343dc8917505914058b698c59e6520dbacffd5
Part-of: odoo/odoo#76459
Purpose
=======
Purpose of this commit is to add a new group for the mail template designer.
Goal is to make roles clearer: managers edit templates, users use them. This
commit allow some designers / managers to make email template and to let
others users use those email templates.
Specifications
==============
When this feature is enabled in the Settings page, a new group is required to
modify email templates in a composer like wizard or to make dynamic content.
This allows to separate managers editing / composing templates from standard
users that use them.
If the current does not have this group, the email body will be in readonly
mode if he selected an email template. That way we force him to use the email
template that the manager made.
Technical
=========
New Group
---------
Only users in this group will be able to create / write email template or
to write Jinja code in the mail composer (including other fields like subject
in mailing).
By default, all internal users have this group. Mass mailing users also have
this group as writing mailings is about the same management level as writing
templates.
Mail Composer Mixin
-------------------
In comment mode, the template is rendered and then saved on the body field
so non-"Mail Template Editor" users can load email templates.
But in mass mode, the body of the template is saved and then rendered and
many things change the body (HTML sanitizer, web editor move inline CSS
properties, add / remove spaces...). So in this case, we can not know if
the user changed the body or not. That is why we put the body field in
readonly mode so, it is not modified by the web editor.
Jinja code detection
--------------------
To detect dynamic Jinja content, we compile the template, and we browse the
AST. If we do not have a single "Template Data" node, we assume that the
template is dynamic.
When we detect the template as static, we do not render it. That way we
avoid unnecessary rendering.
Code cleaning
-------------
Move Jinja import into tools so that it is outside of mail framework code.

- Install 'Accounting' module
- Switch to "My Company (Chicago)"
- Create an invoice
- Set Invoice date to 1/1/21 and
- Set Due date to 1/3/21
- Add any product and 'Confirm' invoice
- Go to customer profile
- Click on 'Due' stat button
- Click on 'Send by mail'
Issue
In received email, logo displayed is of "My Company (San Francisco)".
Cause
Env company not used.
Instead, logo of customer.company_id is used if mail type have
company_id field,
else will fallback on user.company_id
Also, if customer.company_id is null, it will fallback on '0':
/logo.png?company=%s' % (company.id or 0)
Solution
If mail record have NOT a company_id field or is not set,
set company to self.env.company.
Else, set company to record.company_id.

This commit allows to log a note and bypass notification process using a
template. The method _message_log_with_view has been added. This method
render the template using the given view and values (in kwargs) to make the
body before calling _message_log().
This process is done by the intermediary method _message_compose_with_view that
is now common to message_post_with_view and _message_log_with_view has it
follows the same template preparation process.
