Before this commit, editing a mail.activity with the "meeting" category would
open a modal form for the mail.activity, which did not make much sense.
When editing a mail.activity that is linked to a calendar.event, you will now
jump on the calendar view to edit the related event, which is much more
convenient.
In addition, when scheduling such an activity, the "Edit" button in the chatter
is renamed to "Reschedule", to show the user that he will land on the calendar
view.
Furthermore, trying to delete an activity that is linked to a meeting will now
prompt a confirmation dialog warning the user that the meeting will be deleted
as well.
Finally, we moved the 'phonecall' activity category from the 'voip' module
(enterprise) to the base 'mail' module.
Scheduling a phonecall activity will let the user choose if he wants to:
- Simply save the activity, which will schedule a regular mail.activity
- Open the calendar to create a related calendar.event
Used typically when you want your colleagues to see that you are busy in your
calendar during this call.

Currently, 'Exception' ativity type is visible in dropdown list of schedule
activity. It is used by the system to generate warning activities on records.
It is not meant to be used by the user when scheduling activities manually.
By, giving active=false on mail.mail_activity_data_warning, we can hide
'Exception' activity type in dropdown list for user but available for the
system to generate warning.

This field is a non-sense. By using the same logic, it should be added
to any low level model.
Replace the check by a simple verification of presence of an XMLID.
A more generic opt-in solution should be integrated into ORM.

Purpose of the task is to improve the usability of activity types and
activity scheduling.
Another purpose is alto to protect some master data activity types by flagging
them and preventing their deletion.
Containing
* make the activity type as master data so deletion will be prevented;
* improve the usability of the activity type;
* prevent the deletion of activity type which are used for automated activity;
* change the usability of activity scheduling modal;
This commit is linked to task ID 1907970 and PR #29257.
This commit introduces the "upload file" activity type
category. For an activity of that time, uploading a file
will mark the activity as done (and maybe create the forced
next activities).
This activity type is seen as a shortcut to upload a file
with a reminder.

Add a data common for all models have the 'decoration'
type set to 'warning' to schedule alert activities.
This can be usefull when activities are generated on
related model changes.
Task #39340
It was possible to define a delay in days on activity type
to reschedule next activity. It is now possible to specify a unit
(days, weeks, months) and a starting point for the delay
(as before, from the moment when the new activity is scheduled,
but also after the deadline of the previous activity).
We realy need to have all javascript action triggering a done
and schedule next to call the python corresponding method on
activities. A part of the work have been there but some
cleaning could still be done in activity.js.
Task: #1870662
PR: #26272
This commit refactors f488dc58c3 that added reminder feature in activities.
After merging it was suggested specifications were not correct and it has
been decided to move the whole reminder feature in note.
Reminders are now notes instead of activities. Now when having note appµ
systray proposes to create a note / reminder. A note.note record is created
with info given by the user. If a date is given in the systray quick create
then an activity is scheduled on this note.
This means user can create records in activity systray that are not
activities but notes used as reminders. Those will use the first availableµ
note column for the user.
As reminders are now notes the support of activities not linked to any
document is removed, as well as archiving activities and tests linked to
that behavior.
This commit has been not carefully tested nor in-depth reviewied. It is
considered as too important for the upcoming freeze. This closes task ID
1833628. Closes#24129 . Many thanks to @dpr-odoo for its quick development
and good work on this task.
This commit allows to create personal reminders and to manage them using
activities. It is done using activities not necessarily linked to a record
but only to a user. Reminders can be used for example as a personal todo
list.
Technically we choose to model a reminder as an activity related to no
record. This means having a void res_id and model. An activity type is
added to classify reminders in it.
Settings reminder as done is not done like classic activities. Indeed classic
activities are unlinked and a message is logged on the related document.
As there is no document for reminders those are archived instead. It means
an active field is added as well as an override of toggle_archive to update
systray counter.
Activities systray widget is improved to display reminders in activities
list. This entry leads to a kanban view of activities allowing their
management. It is also possible to create them directly from the systray
allowing a quick creation of reminders.

This commit introduces generic activities to use in your addons. Activities are
actions user have to take on a document like making a phonecall or organizing
a meeting. Activities come with the mail module as they are integrated in the
Chatter but are not bundled with mail.thread.
New models are
* mail.activity.type: used to categorize activities. Each type is a different
kind of activity e.g. call, mail, meeting. An activity can be generic i.e.
available for all models using activities; or specific to a model in which
case res_model_id field should be used.
* mail.activity: an actual activity to perform. Activities are linked to
documents using res_id and res_model_id fields. Activities have a deadline
that can be used in kanban view to display a status. Once done activities
are unlinked and a message is posted. This message has a new activity_type_id
field that indicates the activity linked to the message.
This commit introduces a mail.activity mixin to use in various addons that
enables the activities feature. It works like the mail.thread mixin. It defines
a activity_ids one2many field toward activities using res_id and res_model_id.
Various related / computed fields are also added to have a global status of
activities on documents.
Activities come with a new JS widget for the form view. It is integrated in the
Chatter widget although it is a separate widget. It displays activities linked
to the current record and allow to schedule, edit and mark done activities.
Use widget="mail_activity" on activity_ids field in form view to use it.
There is also a kanban widget defined. It defines a small widget to integrate
in kanban vignettes. It allow to manage activities directly from the kanban
view. Use widget="kanban_activity" on activitiy_ids field in kanban view to
use it.
Next commits will aim at integrating activities inside main Odoo addons.
