Julien Carion (juca) 6abd149259 [IMP] web, *: replace search more with view all
This commit changes the behavior of the "Search More..." option in
Many2XAutocomplete and analytic distribution by making it available
as long as there's at least one record in the search results and by
renaming it to "View all".

Rémy Voet (ryv) c5cb357d90 [IMP] *: add dependencies to display_name field
The previous commit introduced an optimization to reduce the number of
queries and fields fetched when we call `name_search`. But it works much
better when the dependencies of `display_name` contain field names used
in the calculation (on the same record/model).

Then, to improve the performance and the cache coherency, add `depends`
and `depends_context` depending on the custom `_compute_display_name`.
Add only the first level of dependencies (never traverse relational
field) because only these have a positive impact on the previous
optimization and the cost is very low (see `modified`).
About `depends_context`, we don't include `lang` because (when `_` is
used by example) it is unlikely to get the same display_name in the same
request with two different lang.

Rémy Voet (ryv) 3c62ca1eb9 [REM] core: remove name_get API
Rationale
=========

Since v8, the `display_name` field is present on all models. By default,
`display_name` uses `name_get` which has pretty much the same purpose
(return record name used by the web client). Gradually, many (backend)
developers (and the ORM: https://github.com/odoo/odoo/commit/6da1c3ac4c036eac289597602976538e243cb939)
started using `display_name` (more convenient than
`record.name_get()[0][1]`) but it still had the `name_get` override.
It becomes more complex than necessary and poeple start to misunderstand
the two (and sometimes override both, leading to inconstiencies between
`display_name`/`name_get`).

To simplify the ORM and the API, we decided to keep only one of them,
the `display_name` field:
- It is much more convenient from a backend point of view
(`record.name_get()[0][1]` vs `record.display_name`)
- It is cached during the same transaction (and invalidated if
its dependencies change)
- It can be overridden like any other compute field (override
`_compute_display_name` with any extra dependencies)
- `name_get` is replaced by `read(['display_name'])`
(API perceptive), which can actually be more efficient
(if `display_name`'s depends are correct, the ORM will only fetch the
fields it needs instead of every prefetchable field)

Changes
=======

- Deprecates `name_get` for the v17 and based the method on
`display_name` (the opposite of before)
- Converts all usage of `name_get`
- Overrides of `name_get` are now overrides of `_compute_display_name`
- For `res.partner`, rename the field store `display_name` into
`complete_name` because `display_name` context-dependent and it makes
no sense to have a compute store that is context-dependent.
- Previously, it was possible to return multiple names for the same
record with `name_get`, but it was tricky and most of the usage of
this `name_get` didn't take this into account. The only example of
this is the `name_get` of `product.product`
(now use `", ".join(<names>)`).

Samuel Degueldre 81be42d8f9 [FIX] *: ensure tour tips are correctly translated
*: account, crm, crm_iap_mine, event, hr_expense, hr_holidays,
hr_recruitment, lunch, mail, mass_mailing, point_of_sale, project,
purchase, purchase_stock, sale, survey, web, website, website_blog,
website_event, website_forum, website_sale, website_slides,
test_main_flows

In odoo/odoo#111103 the tour system was rewritten. The previous tour
system used to depend on the `root.widget` js module, and this module
was an async module that indirectly depended on `session_bind` which
would load the translations, meaning that the js module definition code
of the tours would only run after the translations were loaded. This is
no longer the case with the new tour system, this means that the module
definition code is executed as soon as the dependencies of that module
are fulfilled, which is generally befoe the translations are loaded,
causing most tour tips to not be translated.

This commit adds a hacky workaround for this problem: it creates a new
module that has a default export which is a promise, and has a legacy
alias, this creates an async module that waits for the translations to
be loaded. This module is then imported for its side-effect in all
onboarding tours, causing them to be translated correctly once again.

This commit also needs to convert the steps key in the tours internal
registry to a getter. In previous versions, the steps were directly
added as is to the internal state of the tour service, but since
odoo/odoo#122834 the steps are now mapped, and without a getter, any
edits to the steps occurring after registration will not be taken into
account. This causes issues in some modules that change original
behaviour of other modules (eg accounting makes invoices into a menu in
the accounting app instead of a top-level app in the home menu) as they
need to edit the steps of existing tours to make them work.

In a separate PR, we will implement a more proper fix by changing the
API of the tour manager so that we no longer need this workaround.

Chrysanthe (chgo) 3f5d8128ac [FIX] lunch: removing kanban border-bottom
=== ISSUE ===

If you open the lunch module with the Kanban view activated, there is
a border at the bottom of the view, which was previously used to create
a separation between two elements of different colors.

Since Milk brings a fresh new design, this border was removed on other
kanbans but not this one which makes it not consistent.

=== AFTER ===

We remove that `border-bottom` class to make the view consistent with
other kanbans.

Denis Ledoux 58ea5e7b43 [IMP] http.py: do not inject context by default in JSON routes
Before this revision, when you pass `context` in the arguments
of a JSON routes, this one gets automatically injected
in the environment context.

This is not the case for regular HTTP routes.

It makes sense to propagate the context for the JSONRPC protocol,
JSON routes used by the backend, such as `call_kw`,
but it doesn't make sense to pass this context automatically
for any other kind of routes, such as front-end routes
or routes used by custom Javascript widgets.

This change brings a more unified behavior for routes
of types HTTP and JSON.
In addition, most developers were not aware of this "feautre",
that passing `context` in the arguments of a JSON route leaded
to the injection of this context in the environment context.
This is actually reflected by the diff size this changes required,
only a dozens of routes needed to be adapted, to manually
add the context in their route arguments and to inject it
in their environment context.

Bruno Boi f22961ad07 [FIX] web,*: repair root class attr
*: web + adaptations in base, fleet, hr, hr_expense, hr_recruitment,
   loyalty, lunch, mail, mass_mailing, note, project, stock, survey,
   web_tour

**Foreword**
Since d19037e141 the rootnode class attribute for form/list views was
copied two times:
- on the o_view_controller div
- and on the root node of the view renderer.

Examples:

<form class="foo">...</form>

    gives

<div class="o_view_controller o_form_view foo">
    <div class="o_control_panel">...</div>
    <div class="o_content">
        <div class="foo o_form_editable ...">...</div>
    </div>
</div>

and

<list class="foo">...</list>

    gives

<div class="o_view_controller o_list_view foo">
    <div class="o_control_panel">...</div>
    <div class="o_content">
        <div class="o_list_renderer foo ...">...</div>
    </div>
</div>

**Issue**
This could lead to confusion and also unexpected styling issues.
See this PR #119815 to read a message JS Framework team has received.
See also another a fix that had to be made for x2m fields: 980244fa8

**Introduced Changes**
- in the form compiler, the root node attributes are no more copied to
  the root div node of the compiled template the form renderer receives
- the root div node generated by the form compiler now has the
  "o_form_renderer" class, which was removed during the recent form view
  refactoring.
- the list renderer no more adds the root node class attribute to its
  "o_list_renderer" div
- the X2ManyFieldDialog has been adapted too
- since View, X2ManyField & X2ManyFieldDialog both need to compute view
  classnames derivated from the arch root node, an util has been
  introduced to avoid duplicating code
- the whole codebase has been checked and adapted.

Renaud Thiry 87b0189ff1 [IMP] mail: remove default logo
Many templates use the company logo that is set by default on
database creation. As that logo is clearly a placeholder and the user

plastered all over.

This removes the default logo of the company and removes it from

The logo isn't simply replaced with a transparent PNG as the templates
set a fixed height for the logo, which would look weird.

Aaron Bohy 49297bc7bb [REM] *: remove legacy basic views + some fields/widgets
This commit removes the legacy implementation of the form, kanban

and all legacy widgets it contained. The legacy field registry
couldn't be removed yet as some fields are still used (e.g. in
client actions: FieldMany2One, FieldMany2ManyTags...), and
sometimes accessed from that registry (e.g. uom service). More
clean up will come later. Note that all tests using legacy views
have thus been removed, even though the tested feature might still
remain (e.g. FieldMany2One tests have been removed, but that field
is still there). However, those features are deprecated and
unlikely to evolve. They should be removed in the next saas, or the
one after.

Finally, this commit also removes the legacy view dialogs.

Géry Debongnie b53f78e224 [REF] web_tour,*: use the registry in collecting the tours
This is a step closer to a goal of avoiding dependence on asynchronous
modules. Starting from this commit, new tour definition should be
registered to `registry.category("web_tour.tours")` registry.

So, instead of the following:

```js
import tour from "web_tour.tour";
tour.register(name, options, steps);
```

We now do:

```js
import { registry } from "@web/core/registry";
registry.category("web_tour.tours").add(name, optionsWithSteps);
```

Notice the `options` and `steps` params are merged when registering
the tour definition. It should look something like so:

```js
registry.category("web_tour.tours").add("account_tour", {
  test: true,
  steps: [ ... ],
});
```

And if the `TourManager` instance is needed, one can get it from the
registry like so `registry.get("tourManager")`. Note however that
this instance is only available when the `TourManager` has been
instantiated -- so it's not available at top level of the module.

However in that case some model-specific code is not called, notably methods

Jorge Pinna PuissantandMichael Mattiello (mcm) c7c2959449 [IMP] web, *: simplification and standardization of the settings arch
The aim of this commit is to simplify and standardize the settings archs.

To do this, a small DSL exclusively for the settings was created. This
new DSL introduces 3 tags: `app`, `block` and `setting`.

The `app` tag is used to declare the application on the settings view.
It creates an entry with its logo on the sidebar of the view. It also
acts as delimiter when searching.

```xml
    <app string="CRM" name="crm">
    ...
    </app>
```

- `string` : The "display" name of the application.
- `name` : The technical name of the application (the name of the module).
- `logo` *optional* : The relative path to the logo. If not set, the
        logo is created using the `name` parameter :
        `/{name}/static/description/icon.png`.

The `block` tag is used to declare a group of settings. This group can
have a title and a description/help.

```xml
    <block title="Title of group Bar">
    ...
    </block>
```

- `title` *optional* : The title of the block of settings (the old h2),
        you can perform research on its text.
- `help` *optional* : The description/help of the block of settings
        (the old h3), you can perform research on its text.

The `setting` tag is used to declare the setting itself. The first field
in the setting is used as the main field (optional). This field is
placed on the left panel (if it's a boolean field) or on the top of the
right panel (otherwise). The field is also used to create the setting
label if a `string` is not defined. The `setting` tag can also contain
more elements (e.g. html), all of these elements are rendered in the
right panel.

```xml
    <setting string="this is bar">
        <field name="bar"/>
        ...More elements
    </setting>
```

- `type` *optional* : By default, a setting is visually separated on two
        panels (left and right), and is used to edit a given field. By
        defining `type='header'`, a special kind of setting is rendered
        instead. This setting is used to modify the scope of the other
        settings. For example, on the website application, this setting
        is used to indicate to which website the other settings apply.
        The header setting is visually represented as a yellow banner on
        the top of the screen.
- `string` *optional* : The text used as label of the setting. If it's
        not defined, the first field is used as label.
- `title` *optional* : The text used as tooltip.
- `help` *optional* : The help/description of the setting. This text is
        displayed just below the setting label (with classname
        `text-muted`).
- `company_dependent` *optional* : If this attribute is set to "1" an
        icon is displayed next to the setting label to explicit that
        this setting is company-specific.
- `documentation` *optional* : If this attribute is set, an icon is
        added next to the setting label, this icon is a link to the
        documentation. Note that you can use relative or absolute path.
        The relative path is relative to
        `https://www.odoo.com/documentation/server_version`, so it's not
        necessary to hard-code the server version on the arch anymore.

Chong Wang (cwg) b95b549d24 [IMP] core: raise warnings for related translated stored fields
The _compute_related function can only update one translation but not all. We
decide not to update all translations to avoid increasing the time complexity.
As a result, the value for related translated fields should always be generated
in the runtime, and storing it is illegal.

A related translated stored field may work as expected in a single language
environment. But in mult languages environment, if you have a name field

    name = fields.Char(related="parent_id.name", store=True)

changing parent_id in French, will only change the French translation of the
name field

This PR tries to remove these fields. And a warning is added to prevent
developers creating a related translated stored field in the future.

Jorge Pinna Puissant 886f3de768 [IMP] web,*: force props validation for components
*: base_automation, lunch, mail, mrp, project, web_editor, website

This commit adds a warning if the props validation is not set for a
component.

The props validation is important to tell how a component should be
used, by looking at its code, it's a good documentation of the component.
It's also critical, to test if the component is correctly used, if all
the obligatory props are passed and that there are of the correct type.

For more information, see: https://github.com/odoo/owl/blob/master/doc/reference/props.md#props-validation

stefanorigano (SRI) c8f6bbea46 [FIX] web, mail, lunch: remove the 'default-badge' border
Prior to this commit, the border of any badge was set to "1px
$o-brand-primary" in order to achieve the default badge design that
comes with transparent background.

Unfortunately this rule was affecting colored badges too, leaving no
choice rather then either remove the border (causing misalignment with
siblings default badges) or hide/re-color/keep the undesired decoration
, but with mixed results.

These commit will review the behavior applying an outline (that doesn't
affect badge's placement) to "default badges" only.

Commit preparatory to the introduction of dark-mode.

Dossogne Bertrand 7c4da16b59 [IMP] mail, various: improve mail template usability
Allow our users to modify mail template more easily

- make the list accessible from the settings
- give them a link to update relevant views to update header/footer
- make the list and form of templates more readable
- add a description on templates, allowing to describe their usage

In order to better filter templates, a new category field is added that
is computed based on active flag, description being set and the template
having an xml ID. Master templates are active, with a description and an
xml ID.

Update master data to add description on some templates.

Denis Ledoux 8b91cab67f [IMP] base: remove groups_id from ir.ui.view
The goal of this revision is to get rid of the `groups_id` field of the model `ir.ui.view`.

- This feature wasn't really known or used by most developers,
   and not straight-forward to understand.
   Removing it allows one less complicated thing to learn for developers.
   Besides, thanks to odoo/odoo#95729,
   changing the behavior of the `groups=` attribute,
   we can easily get rid of this `groups_id` feature
   by simply adding `groups=` in the elements of the views
   using the `groups_id` field, it will have the same effect:
   adding the elements in the view only for the users part of the specified group.

- By getting rid of the groups_id many2many field on ir.ui.view,
   it makes possible to cache the view architecture without
   requiring to use the groups in the cache key.
   Currently, if we want to cache the view architecture,
  it would be required to use the intersection of the user
  groups with the groups_id groups of the view,
  making it costly to compute the cache key,
  therefore altering the performance point to cache the view
  architectures.

Denis Ledoux 0501bbd62e [IMP] base: uniform "groups" in back-end view
This revision is to make uniform the behavior of the `groups` attribute
on the Python model fields
and on the node in the view architecture.
In both cases, remove the node from the view completely.

Before this revision,

in a back-end view:
 - In the Python model, if a field has the `groups` attribute set
   and the user is not part of
   the groups, the field is removed, completely, from the view.
 - In the view architecture, if a node has the `groups` attribute set
   and the user is not part of
   the groups, the node is made invisible (not completely removed, just
   made invisible).

in a front-end view:
 - if a node has a "groups" or "t-groups" set and the user
   is not part of the groups, the node is removed from the view.

So it's 2/3 cases removing nodes restricted to a group.
and 1/3 case making invisible nodes restricted to a group.
It's simpler to have a uniform behavior for the 3 cases,
simpler to understandard for developers.

In addition, this will help for the goal to cache back-end views.
It makes possible to convert views using the `groups_id` field
by moving the content of these views directly
in the view to which they add content which is suppose to be completely
removed when the user has not the according group.
By getting rid of the `groups_id` many2many field on `ir.ui.view`,
it makes possible to cache the view architecture without
requiring to use the groups in the cache key.
Currently, if we want to cache the view architecture,
it would be required to use the intersection of the user
groups with the `groups_id` groups of the view,
making it costly to compute the cache key,
therefore altering the performance point to cache the view
architectures.

Fabien Pinckaers 3363e55cac [IMP] cleanup of help messages in all modules
This commit aims at removing unuseful help message to:
1/ reduce translators work, to focus on more useful translations
2/ not sending unuseful information in load_views
3/ reduce help message to useful messages, so that we can mark
   fields having a tooltip in the future UI.
4/ some cleanup of existing messages too

The main use cases:
- REMOVED: help redundant with the field name, providing no extra info
- MOVED TO COMMENT: technical help messages, that should not be in UX

+2 bc0a0cead6 [IMP] web,*: enable owl list & form views
The new list and form views were merged recently [1], but they
weren't activated because they weren't 100% ready yet. This is now
the case. This commit adds those views to the view registry. As a
consequence, a lot of qunit tests and tours needed to be adapted,
mostly for selector changes.

We also add legacy list and form views to the view registry, with
keys 'legacy_list' and 'legacy_form'. This allows to force those
legacy views when necessary. For instance, we did it in views
using complex custom legacy x2many field widgets that haven't been
converted yet (we have a compatibility layer but it isn't complete
and doesn't support every advanced usecases).
