This commit introduces some adjustments to the dark mode color scheme
and the use of bootstrap classes in Community.
- Mini calendar contrast -
The colors were not using variables, making them non dynamic
and breaking the contrast in dark mode.
- Avoid !important rules spreadsheet -
Prior to this commit, spreadsheet top bar was using a `bg-white` class,
making it pure black in dark mode.
Since spreadsheet is designed with light colors and we don't provide a
dark mode for it, we remove that class and set a `background-color`
property using CSS in Enterprise.
- Input color -
This commit fixes the focus behavior on the searchbar in the control
panel, the `command_palette_search`, and the `start a conversation` in
discuss.
- Copy clipboard field border color -
Make use of the `text-primary` color for the copy to clipboard field
We use the o-theme-color function to avoid an undefined since primary
doesn't exist in the o-theme-text-color map in white mode.
- Web_editor toolbar variables -
The toolbar was using the `o-brand-primary` variable
which was set to a darker shade. This caused issue when activating an
option due to how vibrant the color is.
- Improve the controls on border-color -
Introducing a custom property on the border-color to allow
further control on individual components (such as the popover).
- Improve setting tabs colors use -
Prior to this commit, the colors of the settings tabs menu were kinda
inverted. The menu was light in dark mode and dark in light mode.
We fix this by changing the values associated to the CSS variables in
use.
- Make model field selector dark mode proof -
Fixing the design of the model field selector popover in both
light and dark mode. Since the popover was using custom style with
arbitrary values, it was not designed for the dark mode and had a lack
of consistency.
To improve the design, we use variables rather than custom style, and
make sure the desired render is as close as before.
- Sign colors use -
This commit aims to improve the sign module in both light and dark mode.
There were some readability issue with some `btn-light` having poor
contrasts in both light and dark mode, and the use of some classes was a
bit unexpected (e.g `card-header` to set a grey background with some
padding).
- Improve buttons design inside listview -
Prior to this commit, this button was using custom CSS to make it look
like a primary button, while it was using classes related to secondary
buttons.
We remove the custom CSS used to style it correctly and keep our button
design consistent.
- Messaging menu layout in mail -
This commit aims to improve the design of the notifications displayed
in the messaging menu. Prior to this commit, the notifications dropdown
was using custom CSS variables overriding the regular behavior
of our dropdowns.
In fact, the layout was generating some friction:
1) Marking a notification as read would turn its background into a
darker color
2) Effects like `:hover` were all based on the custom CSS variables
resulting in an inconsistent layout.
- Multi company selector adaptations -
In darkmode the multi company selection was using the btn-light which
creates a weird effect and overrides the dropdown default hover behavior
This commit uses the btn-link to display an hover effect on the
company switch and on the checkbox while blending with the background
and the default dropdown hover effect.
- Adapts default badge design -
Improve the design of the default badges in dark mode.
If you open the light mode, these badges are dark grey with a white
text. If you switch to dark mode, they are dark grey but with a dark
text, which makes them look either muted or off.
We make use of SCSS variables to handle the color of the component,
providing a good styling in both modes.
- Fix kanban cards borders inside dropdown -
Fixes the issue with the divider inside the kanban dropdown menu not
showing in dark mode.
To ensure it is visible, we assign it the `$dropdown-divider-bg`, which
is the color it should use, as the horizontal divider above uses.
- Fix tour pointer design for dark mode -
This commit aims to insert the tour pointer and its content inside the
styling we applied to our tooltip.
To do so, we make sure it uses CSS variables, allowing more control and
consistency, plus we replicate the overall look of our tooltips.
- Fix `text-primary` on action background contrast -
This commit improves the readability of our `text-primary` classes when
it's used on a `$o-component-active-bg` background.
Prior to this commit, the `text-primary` was not meeting the contrast
standard, mainly when you were using the `CMD+K` shortcut on the
app switcher.
To prevent that, we changed the background to a `$o-component-active-bg`
background with an opacity ensuring our text provides a good contrast.
- Fix input states -
Prior to this commit, the `--o-input-border-color` CSS variable was
using the `$o-form-lightsecondary` variable to define the standard color
of the `border-bottom` property of our inputs.
This was conflicting since `$o-form-light-secondary` is also used to
define the `background-color` of our table on focus.
With this commit, we separate these two element with different variables
to make sure they don't affect each others.
- Fix kanban ghost background -
Before this commit, if you created a project without any stage or element
in it, the ghost cards that act like placeholders would be pure `#000` in
dark mode, due to the `bg-white` class.
This commit replaces that class with a `bg-light`, providing a better
visual result in both light and dark mode.
- Fix new message design -
Improve the design of the new message element while
inside Discuss, using our danger color, ensuring a good visual result in
both modes.

This commit aims to simplify the evaluation context used to
evaluate expressions used in views (invisible, required, readonly,
domain and context attributes). For now, the evaluation context is
typically the current record (there's a key for each field in the
view). In addition to that, there're static keys (that may conflict
with field names): uid, allowed_company_ids, current_company_id,
active_id, active_ids and active_model.
The motivation of this commit is at some point to get rid of the
3 active_* keys, because they are misleading and basically useless.
The notion of active_* exists, but it is something else: when you
are in a form view (let's say the form of a partner) and you open
its opportunities (by clicking on the stat button), the list view
of opportunies shows up and in the context, there're 3 keys
active_*, referring to the record from which we came. One can
easily access those information with context.get("active_*"), in
python or in view archs.
However, almost all `active_id` found in archs were actually used
to refer to the id of the current record. Indeed, for now, in the
evaluation context of a record, the value of the `active_id` key is
always the id of the record. So this commit adapts them to
directly use `id` instead. There was no use of active_ids, and
a single use of active_model which was removed (active_model is
the res_model of the view, so it isn't really necessary).
This commit doesn't drop the support of those keys, it deprecates
them. They will be removed for v18. A warning will be displayed if
they are used.

Replace all the calls to get_resource_path to the better file_path or
directly use file_open when not needed
Doing both a get_resource_path and file_open means checking twice that
the file exists.
Doing a simple path concatenation before a file_open is safe.
If given to another method (e.g. etree.parse), calling file_path is
the prefered method.
Note that get_resource_path used to return False when the file does
not exists while file_path/file_open raises a FileNotFoundException

This allowed direct access to owl global object.
For instance, to use xml from owl, you could do :

or you could use it directly:
`owl.xml`
Now, owl is not accepted on linter's global variables anymore, so to
import xml, now you need to use a proper import:
`import { xml } from "@odoo/owl";`

Description of the issue:
This commit addresses a traceback error that occurred when adding a product to
the cart with an empty cart. The issue was related to accessing values for
'topping_ids_1', 'topping_ids_2', and 'topping_ids_3' without proper validation
Fix:
In this fix i have added checks to ensure that the values are present before
accessing them this prevents an 'index out of range' error and resolves the
traceback problem, additionally, the code now considers the values in
'topping_1_values', 'topping_2_values', and 'topping_3_values' to determine
whether to access the values or fall back to default values from the order.
Desired behavior after PR is merged:
traceback will fixed and work properly

- on Lunch set a filter and try to save it to favorites
an error is raised
Problem
=======
at this line https://github.com/odoo/odoo/blob/16.0/addons/web/static/src/search/search_model.js#L1771
we are expecting `_getDomain` to return a Domain, but the overrided version
on Lunch returns a List, so when we are calling `toString` it's not the one defined
in `Domain.js` that will be called but the default one defined by JS, which
is not expected in the rest of the process.
Solution
========
`_getDomain` return type depends on the boolean `params.raw`, if it's `True`
we return a Domain else we return a List.

In templates files, env._t() didn't work because terms used

Only string are exported from .xml files to translation files.
So, to make it works, we set a variable that is then used
in attributes.
For example :

These changes are made as a result of simplifying attrs and 'states' in
views. However, they should have remained in a separate commit. When
applying the script making the xml changes (used later for the migration
script), the script checked the definition of the python fields in order
to convert the information into a python expression. Therefore, this
commit is not applied when the script is applied to xml changes.
During this attribute deletion pre-existing errors were found. Part of
the code was using the boolean values of 'states' and another part of
the code was not. The behavior could therefore be different (in cases
where readonly on the field had the same value as the ballan in
'states').
Following the deletion of 'states' and without the application of the
view migration, the js tests (tower) were no longer functional. Tests
using the Form view suffered the same effect. There are few tests that
had to be adapted, including two tests in business accounting (updated
by the accounting team). A test for column_invisible did not work. Test
checking if the test system triggers an error if we try to write on an
invisible field. It turns out that Form was testing on the value of
invisible but not taking into account if the column was invisible. The
test system fix is applied separately because there were a lot of tests
that were incorrect.

The previous commit introduced an optimization to reduce the number of
queries and fields fetched when we call `name_search`. But it works much
better when the dependencies of `display_name` contain field names used
in the calculation (on the same record/model).
Then, to improve the performance and the cache coherency, add `depends`
and `depends_context` depending on the custom `_compute_display_name`.
Add only the first level of dependencies (never traverse relational
field) because only these have a positive impact on the previous
optimization and the cost is very low (see `modified`).
About `depends_context`, we don't include `lang` because (when `_` is
used by example) it is unlikely to get the same display_name in the same
request with two different lang.

Rationale
=========
Since v8, the `display_name` field is present on all models. By default,
`display_name` uses `name_get` which has pretty much the same purpose
(return record name used by the web client). Gradually, many (backend)
developers (and the ORM: https://github.com/odoo/odoo/commit/6da1c3ac4c036eac289597602976538e243cb939)
started using `display_name` (more convenient than
`record.name_get()[0][1]`) but it still had the `name_get` override.
It becomes more complex than necessary and poeple start to misunderstand
the two (and sometimes override both, leading to inconstiencies between
`display_name`/`name_get`).
To simplify the ORM and the API, we decided to keep only one of them,
the `display_name` field:
- It is much more convenient from a backend point of view
(`record.name_get()[0][1]` vs `record.display_name`)
- It is cached during the same transaction (and invalidated if
its dependencies change)
- It can be overridden like any other compute field (override
`_compute_display_name` with any extra dependencies)
- `name_get` is replaced by `read(['display_name'])`
(API perceptive), which can actually be more efficient
(if `display_name`'s depends are correct, the ORM will only fetch the
fields it needs instead of every prefetchable field)
Changes
=======
- Deprecates `name_get` for the v17 and based the method on
`display_name` (the opposite of before)
- Converts all usage of `name_get`
- Overrides of `name_get` are now overrides of `_compute_display_name`
- For `res.partner`, rename the field store `display_name` into
`complete_name` because `display_name` context-dependent and it makes
no sense to have a compute store that is context-dependent.
- Previously, it was possible to return multiple names for the same
record with `name_get`, but it was tricky and most of the usage of
this `name_get` didn't take this into account. The only example of
this is the `name_get` of `product.product`
(now use `", ".join(<names>)`).

In odoo/odoo#111103 the tour system was rewritten. The previous tour
system used to depend on the `root.widget` js module, and this module
was an async module that indirectly depended on `session_bind` which
would load the translations, meaning that the js module definition code
of the tours would only run after the translations were loaded. This is
no longer the case with the new tour system, this means that the module
definition code is executed as soon as the dependencies of that module
are fulfilled, which is generally befoe the translations are loaded,
causing most tour tips to not be translated.
This commit adds a hacky workaround for this problem: it creates a new
module that has a default export which is a promise, and has a legacy
alias, this creates an async module that waits for the translations to
be loaded. This module is then imported for its side-effect in all
onboarding tours, causing them to be translated correctly once again.
This commit also needs to convert the steps key in the tours internal
registry to a getter. In previous versions, the steps were directly
added as is to the internal state of the tour service, but since
odoo/odoo#122834 the steps are now mapped, and without a getter, any
edits to the steps occurring after registration will not be taken into
account. This causes issues in some modules that change original
behaviour of other modules (eg accounting makes invoices into a menu in
the accounting app instead of a top-level app in the home menu) as they
need to edit the steps of existing tours to make them work.
In a separate PR, we will implement a more proper fix by changing the
API of the tour manager so that we no longer need this workaround.

Before this revision, when you pass `context` in the arguments
of a JSON routes, this one gets automatically injected
in the environment context.
This is not the case for regular HTTP routes.
It makes sense to propagate the context for the JSONRPC protocol,
JSON routes used by the backend, such as `call_kw`,
but it doesn't make sense to pass this context automatically
for any other kind of routes, such as front-end routes
or routes used by custom Javascript widgets.
This change brings a more unified behavior for routes
of types HTTP and JSON.
In addition, most developers were not aware of this "feautre",
that passing `context` in the arguments of a JSON route leaded
to the injection of this context in the environment context.
This is actually reflected by the diff size this changes required,
only a dozens of routes needed to be adapted, to manually
add the context in their route arguments and to inject it
in their environment context.

"o_form_renderer" class, which was removed during the recent form view
refactoring.
- the list renderer no more adds the root node class attribute to its
"o_list_renderer" div
- the X2ManyFieldDialog has been adapted too
- since View, X2ManyField & X2ManyFieldDialog both need to compute view
classnames derivated from the arch root node, an util has been
introduced to avoid duplicating code
- the whole codebase has been checked and adapted.

Enforce strict types for returned values for
* create
* write
* unlink
* default_get
to make those methods more consistent and reliable.
Also make sure they can be called with empty self/values,
i.e. that they follow the same behavior as the base methods
defined in the main orm Model.

Many templates use the company logo that is set by default on
database creation. As that logo is clearly a placeholder and the user
isn't necesserely prompted to update it. It's possible for a user to
inadvertently start sending emails with "your logo" placeholders
plastered all over.
This removes the default logo of the company and removes it from
templates conditionally.
The logo isn't simply replaced with a transparent PNG as the templates
set a fixed height for the logo, which would look weird.

This commit adds the loading="lazy" attribute to every img tags compiled
by the kanban compiler and modifies some kanban archs in order to use
img tags instead of divs with background-image style to load images
(this allows again the loading="lazy" attribute to work).
The purpose is to avoid loading images that are outside the user viewport
at all time in order to reduce the load on the network when new images are
loaded.
Steps to test: find all views that are using the o_kanban_image or o_kanban_image_fill_left
class and ensure all the images in these views appear in the network tab of devtools
when they enter the user viewport. Example: res.partners, hr.employee, ...

They dates from < 2027 and are quite outdated. Favour the nl
translation instead.
n_BE is not on Transifex so it was not possible to correct bad
translations.
