` Checks that the bundle's cache is working, i.e. that a bundle creates only enough ir.attachment records when rendered multiple times
see https://docs.python.org/2/library/unittest.html#unittest.TestCase.shortDescription
Only used by web tests (which rely on a module they don't depend on to
run, bad!) and altering the test session directly should work, so this
endpoint seems completely unnecessary.
The `unittest2` package is simply a backport of `unittest` from the
Standard Library of Python 2.7 to previous versions.
There is no reason to use it any longer.
Closes#6941
Not necessary anymore thanks to commit
731b9f60ea.
The test cursors were leaked by the _check_accounting_configured()
function used to manually skip some tests.
After 731b9f6 the tests are skipped cleanly without
leaking cursors, so this became redundant with the reset()
function already present in the TransactionCase cleanups.
This reverts commit 57b14988b0.
If an error happens in an overload of setUp, the already-open cursor
is likely not to get properly released before the next test,
deadlocking the db, because tearDown only runs if setUp has
succesfully completed.
Cleanups were added specifically to run every time, after tearDown has
(potentially) been executed.
closes#8327
Note: cleanups run in LIFO order (as they should).
* added intermediate ``_read_file`` step dispatching between CSV, ODS
and XLS(X) parsing
- primary dispatch on mime type, secondary on file extension:
+ OS may not provide a relevant mime type if no software locally
installed for the filetype (e.g. Windows sends excel files as
application/octet-stream if excel is not installed, and ODS files as
zip if OpenOffice/LibreOffice isn't installed)
+ applications may re-register extensions to non-standard mimetypes
breaking the dispatcher
So if the mimetype is found trust it, otherwise try with the
filename's extension (if any)
- all readers skip lines with only empty cells in their output
- ODS and XLS content are "CSVified", rows are converted to arrays of
unicode strings
* UI altered to not assume CSV files everywhere, and avoid returning
garbage preview data for non-CSV imports
Various:
* added a ``can_import`` utility function to tests.common, can be used
to skip tests if an optional Python dependency is not installed (but
one would like tests to run if the dependency is available)
* fixed datetime issue in ir_fields
* added converter for monetary fields (iso float)
* spreadsheet don't have integers, twiddling required to ensure integral
values won't be serialized as floats (breaking conversion back to
Python)
* improved some tests by asserting no error is generated (bonus: logs
the error message if there is one, rather than just saying the result
is blown)
* because some systems only provide elderly versions of
XLRD (e.g. current debian stable provides 0.9.2 from April 2013)
- keep using xldate_as_tuple instead of 0.9.3's xldate_as_datetime,
workaround is simple
- check for xlrd.xlsx in case of pre-0.8 XLRD

Closes#7285
deprecate phantom_jsfile method, keeping only phantom_js, phantom_js takes a
code argument to run client side only.
Removing phantom_jsfile will allow to switch from phantom to any other engine
such as running google chrome or firefox directly. The only use of
phantom_jsfile was an example.

Some tests (e.g. mail) have expensive and significant DB setup for a
number of small and cheap tests. Using a TransactionCase, the DB setup
far dominates the tests themselves, by up to 10x (mail unit tests take
~130s on my machine, the tests themselves take ~15s).
The SavepointCase introduced here is an hybrid of SingleTransactionCase
and TransactionCase: it uses a single transaction for all tests in a
class, but each test case is isolated by a rollbacked savepoint. This
allows a common DB setup (via setUpClass) while keeping independent
tests.
TransactionCase should remain the primary test case superclass, but
SavepointCase can be a fair optimisation when setup costs far dominate.
The menu root "base.menu_tests" is defined in 4 different places, so,
the presence of the icon depends on the order of installation.
This is a quick fix, it works because odoo serve static files of every
addons, even if not installed. But this is code duplication that should
be removed in an ideal world.
It was removed at 2df9060d97 and broke
tests in community modules that relied on it.
Tests using it should switch to the new get_db_name() method.
